I didn’t do that either  in fact I got new tires and it still did it for a while after that. 36 psi on both sets.

I think that there is a bit of misinterpretation here, I know (at least for me) when I say “they softened up” I don’t mean that they lost spring rate. I understand springs well enough to know that they don’t do that.

I think “settling in” seems like the most apt description so far. I just figured they were brand new springs and needed to get used to their new home position.

Other than that, I couldn’t really tell you. I know I didn’t get used to it, there’s just no way. So something changed somewhere along the line, springs or otherwise it sounds like.

I just installed fox 2.5 mid travel front/rears and icon rxt pack. My ride was very bumpy after hitting bumps in the road and I was starting to think that it just was something I’d have to get used to. After about 2 weeks, it’s night and day. Much better now since it’s broken in or whatever you want to call it. I had them tuned by accutune initially. They feel awesome and I love it.

A lot of people need to learn the difference between bouncy, bumpy, and jarring. Bouncy is like a blown shock, ya know, boing boing. I don’t even know how a truck gets “ bumpy”. Jarring is when a bump rattles your brain.

It is not unusual for a new shock to have some stiction before all the internal surfaces mate and smooth out a bit. So things feeling a bit stiff for 100 miles or until a few good off road drives would be normal.

Sounds about right from my experience, so the new shocks could be the culprits instead of the coil springs.

so you got 1” of lift from the stock 21” with those coils? Sounds wrong and you have way too much preload as well. If the shock is longer than 21” from top hat to center of bottom eye where it attaches to the LCA (according to Accutune) than you have too much preload and will experience a rough ride.

You should have way more lift with that much preload, so something sounds off

I achieved 1.5” of lift with only 7/8” of threads showing on 14” 700# coils

I had the same issue when I installed my Kings and set them to 3inches. I reduced the preload and now it’s sitting at 2.7. Feels a lot better to me.

none yet, but do I intend to change that
Definitely not preload issues as it's less than 21" for the shock.

The truck has definitely settled down a lot. However, it still does this "shimmy" when I close the front door or give the side a little push. It like does these tiny side to side oscillations for a solid couple seconds. I hope I'm making sense, it just seems to not rebound to neutral as quickly as it should. This is all with the truck off and me outside.
