    I've been meaning to share these pictures with you, but I keep forgetting; I met this guy at a car show back in early November. He fosters future guide dogs! This Shepherd puppy is named Phoebe; Normally, the rule is that you're not supposed to pet guide dogs, including ones that are in training, but Phoebe was in the very early stages of training and her foster had actually taken her to the cruise night to get her acclimated to people. Translation: We were encouraged to come up and pet her!

    LMAO. Radar dish ears. Love it. When GS’s fill in, the ears are more proportional.

    German Shepherds do not have to get their ears cropped, like Dobermans, right?

    Nope and neither do Dobermans. That’s a breeders choice and one I wouldn’t do.

    I mean Shepherds' ears naturally fill out as they reach adulthood...? I know Dobermans are born with floppy ears...

    I had a Doberman as a kid who was about 3 when I got him. Big floppy beagle ears but his tail was clipped..I guess at birth it wasn't but his tail was injured and half had to be amputated anyway so they just did the normal "clip" length

    Never been much of a Doberman fan, but that likely has to do with getting my face tore off by one. Never bled so much in my life, very thankful l didnt lose my eye.

    This thread is supposed to be about living with Aspergers Syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders, in addition to my truck, so here it goes...

    I am not the least bit anti-mask, but wearing one for long periods of time makes me feel closed in. I have yet to find a mask that does not fog up my glasses at all; The N95 dust masks with the elastic yellow straps work better for me than the reusable cloth masks and disposable surgical masks, but my glasses still fog up in certain conditions and masks without an exhalation valve become harder to breathe in as time passes.

    The standard dust masks, regardless of whether or not they're valved, are also not particularly comfortable to wear for long because the elastic straps pull the mask tight against your skin; As such, I go out of my way to find masks like this that have a foam rubber lining...

    I'm not anti-mask, but like most reasonable people almost two years into a pandemic, I'm sick of wearing them; Being on the autism spectrum causes issues that neurotypical individuals generally do not experience. Most of the time, I wear a mask just to humor my mom, because I am terrible at lying to my parents...

    As far as masks go, if I absolutely have to wear one, this is the one for me...

    @ColoradoTJ
    @shakerhood
    @Taco critter

    My friend Doug has Aspergers and also like me is fully vaccinated; He is Jewish, but he has not been to synagogue in a couple months...?

    Why? His synagogue requires masks regardless of vaccination status, and is one of two friends of mine on the spectrum whose attitude is "Why do I have to wear a mask if I'm vaccinated?" He ended up getting into a huge argument with an usher at the synagogue over mask wearing, and I do believe he relented and put it on that time, but as I said before he has not been to the synagogue in at least a couple months.

    My other friend who's on the spectrum, a female in her early 20s, is fully vaccinated like Doug and me; She hates wearing masks because they make her feel closed in, but begrudgingly wears one at work. She has told me they she has been on the verge of panic attacks when at work because she feels closed in and like she can't breathe while wearing a mask.

    I myself don't have any breathing issues when wearing a mask for a long period of time, but I do start to feel closed in when I wear one for a while, and I get really pissed off when my glasses fog up.

    As stated above, one of the primary reasons I wear a mask in places like the grocery store is to humor my mom. I am not denying that masks work, but as an Aspie with sensory issues it can be VERY fatiguing to wear one for long periods of time!
