New rims! Need your opinion

I recently bought some blem American eagle wheels for pretty cheap. They are a flat black. 17 inches....3 out of 4 of them have minor scuffs. See photos. I am debating if I want to get them repaired or not. Talked with a few repair companies. Some suggest powder coating for 75 each. Others are the "mobile repair" guys that come to you and "air brush" it I guess. Said it would be like 30 bucks a wheel. Has anybody had a rim repaired by one of these mobile guys? How does the paint hold up over time? Do you guys think its even worth repairing these? One has a minor scrape on the rim. Will it rust over time?

Those are some pretty nice looking wheels! To be honest with you....I wouldnt even worry about getting them repaired. From the looks of the pictures, they look like normal off-roading wear and tear. I would just leave them as is and put them on your truck.

x2 with WW_FIREFIGHTER... I also like those rims. I wouldn't worry about repairing them either, by the time you repair them you might as well have bought new ones. The scuffs are hardly noticeable, only when you get real close.

I agree with the above as well. Put them on and roll out. Those are nice rims...good score.

 

I agree with with everyone else. Unless you got them for next to nothing, you'll pretty much have the price of new wheels tied up in them by the time you get the repaired.

And if you decide to get them repaired, I would get them powder coated. It will hold up better than painting them.

 

Anyone know what model these are?

 

Those are sweet. mount them up as is and post pics asap.

Installing 5100s tonight w ICON leaf pack. Mounting wheels w/ BFG 265 70 17 tomorrow. Will post some pix after, jiggies.

 

By the way I ended up painting only the outer ring w some black matte wheel paint from auto zone. match was perfect and clean.

 

Also, if anybody wants these rims good luck! They are on back order for 10 weeks. Thats why I opted for the "blems" shipped from MIAMI.

 

After you mount your tires, just get some touch up paint.

 

That may be tough if they are matte unless he can find matte touch up paint. I say just rock em and if they bother you that much than have the repair guy do his thing with them mounted on the vehicle so you don't risk banging them back up mounting the tires to the wheels. I just called a guy this morning to quote me on these wheels instead of the Monsters I was originally planning for the truck. Very similar but far less common.

 

Yah I wanted the monsters too but they only come in 18 and thats lame.
