I had no idea what long travel IMS was, so I googled it. Other than the name, I don’t see any evidence that those shocks have more travel than the stock shocks. Do you know the collapsed and extended lengths? You might not need new brake lines.

I have King extended length shocks with stock brake lines and I’m not having any issues.

    https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/pro...hocks-for-toyota-tacoma-2005-2021-ims59-50941

EDIT: here is a better description that gives the lengths and recommends brake lines.

    https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...otube-ifp-long-travel-rear-shocks-for-tacoma/

Is the extra travel achievable with the stock leak pack?

Wheelers bump stops in the rear severely limit up travel. The pedestal that the bump sit on is way to tall. They stop 2-3 inches before your shock is fully stuffed

Maybe if you're on a stock leaf pack. I'm over 2" lift in the rear with my RXT and have a grippp of downtravel. Droop travel > uptravel. I'm not too worried about the up. The bump has contacted before and I had no idea it even happened. I only noticed when I back there to do something else and noticed the outline in the dust on the frame lol.

If your not using your entire shock travel you are not fully utilizing your suspension. Should have 1/2 shock shaft at full stuff. And limited .25 before full extension.

I cut mine down when I did the shackle flip. Pulled about 3/4 to 1" out of it. Still didn't get full travel but it helped a bunch

I'm on ADS 2.5's in the rear designed and tuned for my leaf pack. I'm okay lol.

@whatstcp meant no harm in his comment, but I can assure you that the differences are on Durobump's actual website. Would've been easy enough just to go to the site itself before asking anyone else for information about these bumpstops.

I have Durobumps on my rig and love them.

Cool story bro. Like I said. If you are limiting your shock movement then you are not using you suspension to its full potential. Plus on a side note. Wheelers are absolute trash in the rear for anything high speed.

You know they compress, right? If you have the proper damping in your shocks you shouldn't be living on the rear bump stops anyway, but I understand what you're trying to say.

I wasn't impressed with the wimpy Wheelers u-bolts though, ditched those for some much beefier Archive Garage u-bolts when I put my flip kit on.

Regardless of how this chat is going between you and I, we can all agree aftermarket bumps are much preferable to the stock cement ones when you come in contact with them.

Oh yeah they are definitely better feeling than stock. I'm just saying to flex your rig out completely and see how much they are limiting you shock travel. You might be surprised. Even with the pedestals cut down it was a ton. My biggest problem with them is that rubber holds energy. So completely compressed your shock is having to deal with you leafs rebound and the rubbers rebound. At speed they make the rear of the truck hop on bigger hits. I had accutune Fox's and it was still a issue over 60mph. For $500 you can go air bump in the rear and it's a unbelievable difference.

Oh there is no comparison to airbumps. But these will get me by until I decide exactly how I'm going to use the truck and see if it will be worthwhile to start welding stuff.

If you have access to a welder then air bump will be a breeze to do and you'll be able to save some money. Here is how I did mine. Screenshot_20211221-082231_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20211221-082238_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20211223-204504_Gallery.jpg

Not sure but I plan on upgrading in the future so for now I'll have a 2" AAL. Later I'll upgrade to dobinsons or Dealers. According to dobinsons they are functional with the stock leafs

I would've answered the same way, but for this reason alone - the information is found on the very site itself.

Now that you have the information, before dropping the cash on these bumpstops, consider whether or not you'll do a shock relocation in the near future.

I agree with you. I see nothing wrong with what he said. Op didn’t do enough research, but glad he got his answer.
