Been saving for this mod for a while, and I'm very excited to have the truck driving with proper gearing.

Oh... and now the truck will be locked front and rear.

:pout:Still need those. Struggling with selling the DRZ saving for a FE350s or getting the NWF eco crawler. I have so much more fun on two wheels lately so I keep going back and forth. Overgeared has let me do a lot in the meantime though which makes it that much harder.

That's all I ever hear about regearing. I can't wait to see what a properly geared truck drives like.

Front locker also interested me a lot since there's a few obstacles that I've tried to go up and the front end had no traction. I'm definitely going to snap a CV or 2 while learning the limit of what I can do.

FWIW I’ve only snapped one and a stub shaft in the 4 years I’ve had it. If you don’t bounce or aren’t bound up they last surprisngly long.

Good to hear. I'm swapping out the ADD tube for a solid manual diff tube. Hopefully that helps, but I'll keep the ADD tube just in case I snap the intermediate shaft.

Swapping out the rear to an ARB. The whole rear axle will be for sale once I throw the new one in.

I've got one of those waiting to go in too. Really wanted to pull it out and see what it would take for RCV to make a stronger version and follow through with what Steve Burns never did, but I also always theorized that removing the stub shaft should hopefully pull out some deflection, therefore making it stronger that way. Also much easier to swap one of these on the trail vs a stub shaft but then you need to carry a whole tube with shaft with you too.

I was the first one to talk to RCV about making a 4340 stub shaft for the 7.5" ADD tube. All they need is a a stub shaft and they'll get a price to produce X amount of units. I never followed through and Steven didn't either because there wasn't enough demand. Steven has since moved onto trying to get a larger front diff to fit. If he ever gets his rig back from the LS swap I'm sure he's got something planned. I'll ask him next time I speak with him.

I was also one of the first guys to run RCVs on my rig. It's been 3 years now and a lot of very hard wheeling. I've yet to damage anything in the ADD tube or diff. As long as you don't go hard on the skinny peddle and shockload the system it holds up just fine.

Yeah shockloading is what did my stub in in the first place. I think I was just hoping to have a part I never have to worry about anymore that isn't easily fixed on the trail. I still plan on digging into it eventually as I feel I have 0 interest in going SFA anytime soon.

I still think the best mod is a daily driver.

Just make sure when you’re spotting a non-front locker truck to keep telling them to turn their front locker on.

Waiting on one last piece to the puzzle before I start ripping into the truck. Until then, I'll be working this weekend on getting the old diffs shipped back to ECGS.
