Anyone with an Alu-Cab canopy run I got a FrontRunner Rack? I have a ton of accessories so I’d like to keep my rack… …Also, does anyone know any local Colorado Springs locations that sell Alu-Cab?

I doubt a Front Runner style rack would fit under the overhang as I know they look to sit taller than most of the Prinsu or similar style ones. You would have to do some measuring to be sure. If you want to add the AC table (that mounts under the overhang), then I really doubt a FR rack would fit anymore. I have a pretty low profile SOS roof rack & do not have the table, and I have about 1.75" between the overhang and the rack in that area. If I remember, my rack sits 2.25" above the highest point of the roof.

To my knowledge, the only Alu-Cab dealer in CO is Juniper Overland in Denver.

i mean a front runner on the rear canopy. I have a decent tent, I just need a topper that can handle the weight. I have always liked the Alu-cab style so I’d likely choose that over RLD or RSI. (Plus the cost difference makes a huge difference to me)

It’s ok. I would rather have the camper shell combo type, but I just don’t have the $$$, and I already have the other components to work with the tent.

Sure. What did you have to do to modify it?

Just curious, would you be willing to say how much the Alcan springs cost? I've considered them for a custom application but have no idea where the range in price even lies.

This was from 2020 when I got a quote from them:

The cost of the rear springs $760.00. These springs will have a 2" lift and will be 1000# over stock weight capacity. We can add extra weight capacity for $10.00/100lbs.

That price also included bushings, but ubolts/hardware & any shipping would be on top of that they said. I am super happy with my Deavers so far, but I think if you know the level of detail & spec your going for, Alcan is ultimate way to go. Never heard anyone complain about them.

All in, shipped to me, was ~1,200 dollars. This is just for two leafs, with bushings installed, nothing else.

I agree with the guy above me. If you just need a general setup, there are cheaper options that will get it done.

For my specific situation and the constant, heavy use I am planning on, Alcan was the best route for me, even at the increased price.

    This is great information, thanks!

My problem is kind of the opposite in that I don't like that the smallest lift I can get is 2 inches with slightly improved load capacity for towing the travel trailer. I've currently got the lightest/lowest Dobinson setup but it'd be nice to drop it back down about an inch as I really don't need that much lift. Knowing what the general pricing structure is helps in the decision for whether it's worth it to swap them back out for a custom option. Most people are going for big lifts and big loads. I just want slightly over stock height with slightly over stock spring rate for the one to two weekends a month I'm towing. Not a fan of hassling with helper springs, etc.

Good to know. Their base spring price has increased by $200, the additional cost of $10/100 lb is still accurate.

Unforgiven, I'm getting my Alu-Cab Canopy next week and want to transfer my Frontrunner rack from my existing bedrock to the mounting rails on the Canopy, what 'FEET' are you using to secure the Frontrunner Rack to the Canopy?

Has anyone had any issues with their canopy camper? I recently just had mine installed here in LA and it's been raining like crazy. Needless to say it leaks everywhere. I have never heard any news about these campers leaking, either from the sealing of it being mounted or on any of the panels. But it has leaks along the rear door seal, the rear panels where you mount the molle plates (up in the corners). I feel I got a bad camper and just uneasy. The company I purchased the camper from is going to look at it and attempt to reseal everything, but I believe it's more than that.

Any thoughts, could I have been the first person to recieve a badly built/assembled alu cab? Literally standing water in the bed and my gear soaked.

I would be taking this in immediately for warranty work. For the amount these cost, that’s unacceptable.

That's the first thing I'm doing after first of year. Just really weird considering I've never even heard of one leaking. I have another wedge that I built off ripcord design and it never leaked outside of condensation

The front corners of the bed to any type of topper as well as the bedrail caps are a leak point. I removed/replaced them all before install and laid down a strip of butyl tape and also used butyl tape to fill in the gaps between the front and side walls of the bed.
