I’ll reinstall my OEM with new boots and see what happens.

I do hope I'm right, for your own sake.

Can only imagine how much of a hassle it is to constantly undo stuff just to replace a cv axle.

I have a shop with a lift and all the proper tools and equipment. I actually dreaded talking to the manager at Napa on this one, more than replacing it. I’ve gotten it down to a pretty quick turn around, but it’s still something that I would not want to do in the woods. The manager knows me well, and my truck. I’ve been waiting for the “locker voids the lifetime warranty” spill on my last two axles. Haha! He doesn’t seem to care though. I’m getting tired of replacing them, I’m a mechanic on trucks and heavy equipment for a living, I’d rather be enjoying my truck rather than wrenching on it. Wrenching on my truck has always been my hobby, but it’s different when you’re modding or upgrading something than it is to be fixing something that has broken twice in a year.

Nappa cv's definitely bind at full droop. I know mine do.

Mine used to bad when I had the daystar poly lift in the front. When my truck was on the lift, the upper control arm would contact the spring, and you also couldn’t rotate the wheels because of the cv’s binding. I’m running the OME setup now, and the shocks don’t let anything droop too far. I can easily rotate the wheels with the truck on the lift. However I’ve not tried to rotate the wheels at full droop and on the steering stops. It’s very possible that this is how my axle broke this time, as I was in the swamp, bottomed out on the frame.

I have aftermarket upper control and extended travel shocks. I was less than thrilled when I realized they were binding. I've only used my front locker a couple of times and I've been lucky so far. I need to get off my ass and reboot my originals.

Yeah I have a reman OEM CV axle on the passenger side and a $60 Pep Boys poverty spec axle on the driver side. When I jack up the front end, the drivers side droops about 2" less than the passenger/OEM side. Only reason I can think of is the difference in axles and it's pretty apparent how much further the OEM one can go

*stares at extending cv axles with torn boots that continue holding up like a champ on every wheeling trip*

I was just going through the axle threads & saw this.
Not sure where you got yours or if it really matters seeing’s each auto store uses the same brand & just slaps their own name on them.
Anyway, not too long ago I saw that NAPA changed the product ID#. Caught my eye because at first it appeared as if they were discontinuing & well, there’s a lifetime warranty bought & paid for. I called to find out what’s up with this & was told it was because the boots were being improved, hence a different #. Able to take more heat or some such.
Still doesn’t help when removing them….
