I'm in the garage now. Just finished the oven method of separating the headlight lens. I copied @SellyKlater parts. This video below I’ve been following says to test the projector cutoff before install by connecting to a 9v battery, brown and white wire. Well I did that for the first one thinking white was positive and got no actuation. I hope I didn’t short the projector? I tried on the second one, barely got any actuation and then nothing. I think it’s maybe because the battery is just a weak power source.

Is there anyway to test the projector before I bake it into the headlight to make sure I didn’t short it?

Maybe try finding a newer 9v or maybe try it with 12v. It shouldn't have shorted from what you did. I do remember something on mine came loose and I had to out it back together and everything worked fine.

I got a new battery, it worked on the projector I didn’t install into the housing. The one I did install into the housing didn’t work. Time to wait to send it back to TRS and get a new one…

9v should only be for testing the shield that drops for high beams. The bulb/ballast is gonna need a lot more power to test. The purpose of testing them before hand is to make sure you have them aimed properly but these are pretty forgiving for adjustments even after everything’s sealed up.

verify the one not working is hooked up correctly as stuff can work loose. Personally I’d just go ahead and install the harness on the truck and test the bulbs from there.
