I would highly recommend the Yokos, I have ran both and the weight factor alone would push me to the yokos. That aside, they hook better, especially in snow.

Kinda hoping the different stuff geolander makes their tires out of is better than toyo being a newer tire and all.
    Hear geolanders are quieter too.
    So.. Newer rubber, Lighter, quieter.

I have been happy with my toyo's.

For those on 37's...what backspace are you guys running? On 35's now with plenty of clearance except frame rail rub at full lock. Would more back space or a small wheel spacer fix that with 37's?

    Curren truck as it sits:

The wheel would need to go further out so you'd need less wheel backspace or wheel spacers.

These are the wheels on mine.Screenshot_20211225-101910_Gallery.jpg with 37/12.50/17's.

I had 17x9 -12 wheels that worked well but still rubbed frame, switched to 17x9 -38 beadlocks and had to hammer alot more by the pinchweld and it still rubs frame.
Alot of LT kits move the ball joints forward and will help the firewall clearance.

How did you get the courage to remove the fender flares?
What motivated you to do it?
    Are you happy with it?

This is the 2nd silver Taco I've seen with them off (mine is also silver streak mica) and it really has me contemplating doing it...
The stock flares look kind of goofy...

Just what @CGoss is saying. Less back-space will take the tire off the frame, but the increased scrub radius will put it into the firewall.

I'm pretty sure bhlm as it looks like they've been resealed. Previous owner did most of the mods on it except snorkel and front bumper.

Hmmmm I might just order a wheel with less backspace and a 37 to test fit. I'll be going SAS here in a year or two, so no biggie if it doesn't fit at the moment.

I've got plenty of Clearance to the firewall and cab mount, but the tire definitely keeps that frame polished lol. This Pic while I was installing the snorkel shows the room I have currently.

Yup, pick your poison. Frame seems the least of the two.

I kept ripping them off and gave up on trying to glue them back on... I am happy with no fender flares to deal with.

yeah he has a 5ft bed that came on half of Tacomas ever made big fuckin whoop

doesn’t really answer the question but thanks

Question was along the lines of “is fender flare delete worth it and does it look better” given there’s only like 2 people I see who’ve done it and stock seems kind of ugly and bulbous

as opposed to simply doing a 2” cut/trim

    they are apples and oranges
Bobber bed gives you more clearance and not being able to go back doesn’t matter because you’d never want to.

as opposed to flare delete, if you do want to go back, it would be hard if you toss or sell the flares.

I am asking because in my experience i will have magical ideas about what to do to the 2g taco and then when it’s done and im looking at it I’ll go “wow I regret this”
I guess I will just give removal a shot and see how it goes
Am currently on 33 255/80R17 (already could use a regear) hopefully that doesn’t make it look goofy
Obviously a big tire looks better with it like 35, 37 (goals, eventually)

i too, have taken a grinder to my trucks metal (as most people have)
The question is more “is that mod worth it or do you regret it”

it’s one of the few things that came with your truck from factory to differentiate it as a higher more capable 4x4 vs rwd basemodel

yes mine keep popping off in the wind and the clips are deteriorated. I think it will solve headache to just take them off.
