The motion ratio of travel at the wheel compared to the travel at the LCA bump pad is causing your ~6-7” of up travel to be reduced by ~3-4” at the wheel when engaging the bump stop for 2” depending on your bump pad location. Air bumps aren’t going to give you as much control over tuning as a bypass or coilover with a good tune and you’ll be losing performance for that ~25-50%.

Not sure that's something I would do. You run the risk of putting water in your bumps.

It's been done before without it happening, but use welding gas if you don't have nitrogen and are concerned about water.

All I use is Argon to charge my stuff. But air from a compressor is definitely going to carry moisture and with bumps basically being an emulsion shock its going to mix with the oil.

Still not on the same level. And onboard air systems definitely don't have a built in dryer, typically. My ARB twin will definitely push some water.

Well, the air isn't supposed to make it to the diff for starters and if it does you have a problem. But I do live where we see below zero temps and have had lines freeze up for my lockers. I put some ISO in my manifold last year to cure the problem.

@906taco you're right, but the volume of air in a bump is so tiny that the amount of moisture getting in would be miniscule. Plus because it's emulsion, everything will be very well lubed, so no worries about corrosion. Mountain bike shocks have been using air forever and never had any issues.

I think a bigger reason that nitrogen is used is because it doesn't expand or contract as much as air as it heats up. But I could be wrong.

All that said, it's not really that important for me to get the bumps perfectly dialed. I probably won't even hit the rear bumps super often anyway.

Is the tubing you’re using 304 0.028 wall annealed?

Smallest at my regular supply house is 0.065 wall. Think that might be a little difficult to work with.

What length limit straps should I be looking at for a 2+ kit? 8”? Getting the last of the parts I need before shocks show up.

@EatSleepTacos Where did you source your banjo bolts from again? I think I need a couple.

See above. As far as straps, does the kit you purchased not have them?
