possibly about to buy an AR15. i really want one and ive been tryin to do homework(research) on them.

i think if anything i might try and get a complete or stripped lower because otherwise id need to go through an FFL right?

does anybody have any advice or anything i should look for to help me make the most informed decision possible?

the receiver is the "GUN" you can buy a stripped lower from a private sale and what not if your state allows that and iirc FFL gun dealer cant sell bare receivers to anyone under 21 because you get to choose if you want to turn it into a pistol or a rifle....also a FFL will have to make you fill out a 4473 form to buy

    i bought a S&W M&P15 from Gander Mountain for 699$ brand new...also has a lifetime warranty

I know I shouldn't ask. Why an AR15. By no means is it a good Hunting Rifle Maybe a plinker but cheaper would be a mini 23. In my opion the AK47&AR15 are only good for Killing People. That is only an old Mans thoughts on the subject.

ive been looking and i wanted to get a complete spikes tactical lower and maybe a complete cmmg mid length upper and put them together

i just want something decent and the only reason i posted this here is cuz i really like this site and i trust most of yalls opinions and i dont know anyone personally that owns or knows anything about ARs so i really have nowhere else to turn for input or advice

Nice and accurate does not equal AR15 to me. I only liked the M4 for building clearing, and the weight. The range drops really quick too. This is an Armalite AR10, I bought in San Angelo this past summer. Its pretty accurate and really fun.

yeah ive looked into AR10s and i would love an FAL but those are way outta my price range and then the ammo gets pricey too. yours looks beautiful tho

idk why i want an AR15 now. ive been seeing a bunch of them and they look like fun and i dont have anything tacticool and it would look good next to my glock and maybe with a red dot and free floating rails idk

check this out: http://www.armalite.com/ The weapons are really good, but more expensive. For the most part AR15s price seems to be around $800-1000 price wise on basic models. We had a group buy at my wing this month for the AR15 it was $825 base model without rails. Just so you can judge prices.

yeah that seems about right i would love an AR10 but idk i really dont need that cuz i never hunt. i just enjoy plinking and target shooting. but $800 is what i was hoping to spend on a base rifle then gettin a few odds and ends

Why would you say that? Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

They're fun as hell to shoot at TARGETS & steal plates at a gun range done legally, safely and responsibly.

actually, a AR-15 can be a great hunting rifle if u have the right round. a lot of people are having great success killing hogs and deer with the 6.8mm SPC
