Did you ever install the DD 12 hole inj? I cant remember.
My LTFT are flat lined at hwy speeds in this V8, so its gotten really consistent. Its running really good, but I cant keep my foot out of it, so I havent realized any mileage gains lol.

Yeah, I have the 12 hole injectors. They've made no noticeable difference to power or mpg.

Yea I guess we can dream and convince ourselves otherwise, until the forum brings us back to reality lol.

Definitely noticing an improvement of 1-2mpg without the rack. I know that doesn't seem like much but it does make a difference. The real test will be when I drive to San Diego again next weekend for Christmas.

And on that note, I have only been using the factory average mpg gauge. I know those aren't very accurate but they aren't too bad. I have a new Ultragauge on order tho. It just shipped so I should have it by this coming weekend I think. That will give me a much better idea of what I'm actually getting.

Nice build. My wife has a 2004 V8 same color. Just have a bilstein lift and rock sliders right now. Going to start adding a few more mods soon.

Picked up an Ultragauge MX v1.4. Still trying to see if there are trans codes that work on my 2003.

I'd think since its the a750 it should be alright. I have the MX 1.4 Tacoma/Tundra CAN bus version, and it worked no problem. The ability to calibrate speed is also nice to know how fast you're actually going

Haven't had any luck yet with the 05-11 Tacoma codes, still showing err for the trans temp. But I just got it tonight, so still need to play around with it some more.

Found the codes for the trans pan temps. This is for the post converter temps, the one you want to watch. There is also a trans pan temp sensor but I haven't found that one yet.

Drove out to San Diego for xmas yesterday. The trip here from Tucson is about 420 miles one way, so I break it up into 2 halves. The half way point is Yuma, AZ, where I will stop to fill up on less expensive AZ gas.

My last trip here, with the rack still on the roof, the drive from my house to the same gas station I always use in Yuma, was a full tank of gas. The E light was on when I got off the freeway. The factory mpg display was saying around 10 mpg and some change.

This trip, without the roof rack, I had about 10 gallons left in the tank when I pulled into the gas station in Yuma. Just a smidge over 1/4 tank. I filled up 13.318 gallons and it's a 23 gallon tank in the 4Runner. After calibrating the Ultragauge for the gallons used, that came out to 16.3 mpg. That's a massive difference!

The 2nd half of the trip into San Diego, I had lots of headwinds, common between Yuma and the mountains just after El Centro, and a 4000 foot climb into the mountains. Obviously gas mileage will suffer there. Still ended up arriving at my daughter's getting 15.7 mpg with gas in the tank. The Thanksgiving trip with the rack, I had to stop for gas before I got to the house and it was telling me around 9 mpg.

So, as much as I like the rack and how it looks on the truck, I'm probably not going to put it back on and am considering selling it now. I haven't used it yet but might keep it around, just in case there is something I do need a rack for.

Wow. That’s a huge hit on MPG. So I imagine it will still get worse with gear added on top. I’m in Yuma and saw your build page when I did my FJ swap on my 03 4runner. Thanks for the info
