Does anyone e know where to purchase 3D tailgate decals that are actually metal?
I ordered some and they ended up being plastic.

    Thanks!!!

    eta- metal? Nope

eta2: Now that I think of it when I was shopping for OEM black overlays I had a scumbag on Ebay ship me black metal decals instead of the overlays. Ebay got a full refund issued despite the chode trying to only refund 50% at first.

They are out there if you want to remove the chrome and stick on completely different ones.

I have the metal letters for the tail gate and I recommend against them
The paint comes off them and they don’t look good
I have been touching them up. I will remove them and replace them with the factory plastic ones in the spring

Here’s the ones I’ve had on my truck for a year and a half now.

I had metal at first and they corroded quick.

I think they might be a pain to take off
I will try fishing line and a heat gun

I've heard that. I was considering those but have had my regular decals on for 4 years now without any issue so I figure why change what isn't broke and they look perfectly fine IMO.

Mine were subjected to harsh winter conditions, road salts and brine. Me thinks the environment has much to do with it.

Does it really make a difference? They’re just stick on letters. They don’t really have any other purpose other than being pretty. I actually suggest the plastic ones because the metal letters tend to bleed out rust on your body paint if painted poorly.

    Thanks for the replies!
I think I will just use the plastic ones.
They are just for looks anyways. Just wanting to use the best option out there and it sounds like the plastic decals might be better for the truck long-term anyways!
    Thanks all!

This is the first vehicle I have actually added these things to. Usually it's a debadge, dechrome, and sticker removal. I still have no idea why I actually like them on this truck. Maybe it's the contrast. But I got the metal ones and tbh, I saw in the reviews some reports of them not holding up, so only time will tell. If you got the plastic ones, I'd use those.

See Tufskinz for high quality plastic letters. Also small ones on the glove compartment really add some pop.

I have some auto rover brand zinc ones, 3rd Michigan winter right now and they look new still. The paint/coating feels either really thick or it's like a plastic/power coat or something. I got them on Amazon but they no longer have the item listed.

After all of the replies, I'm going to go ahead and install the plastic ones I got!
