Sort of, TPMS for the camper. Otherwise, my wife told everyone to get me gift cards to a bike shop so I could get the fork I wanted. Apparently, she does listen to some of my rambling about bike and truck stuff, who knew?

    Merry Christmas everyone!

To those I talked to a few weeks ago - got the baja design ditch lights installed today. Pretty sweet gift from my mom's husband to help me out with it. BRIGHT.

Wanted to get the kb voodoo tonneau compatible bedrack but the wife laughed when I told her that’s what I wanted for Christmas. Joke’s on her as we both just got a couple unexpected bonuses.

we worked without a contract since mid 2019; union negotiated what they thought was “fair” ended up being less than covering cost of living increases. so they thought they’d appease with “bonuses” that still don’t equate to COL and inflation. I see it as it was more than I was making so it’s better than nothing.

jump ship to GE or Amazon they have a bonus structure for some of their engineers.

I'm seeing through one set of train tracks now. I would see a pay cut but the job is a ton better, small locally owned company of less than 100 people top to bottom. Definitely looking forward to it.

It it doesn't work out then likely going to look at airframe structures. That's what I did in school and what I like to do. And likely where I'd see myself going after this place if it works out.

Or completely jump vehicles and get out of aerospace entirely. It's not outside the realm of possibilities.

We make bonuses in theory. We just haven't been paid out and the raises haven't been there for a while. I think '22 would be better but a huuuuuge part of it is me getting out of QA engineering and getting into design like I've always wanted to do.

I just ordered the snowblower attachment, weights, and chains for my John Deere x500. So, I probably won't get a storm to use it in this year.

Or the other extreme like when I bought a new snowblower a few years ago, we get devastated.

As long as our first big storm waits a couple weeks, I will be fine with it. I may see the attachment and the chains this week but the weights won't be until the following week.

I’d love to get that for my x-series but the hill behind my barn garage is too steep to get the tractor up in snow and I don’t have room in the garage to store the tractor. I may invest in a better Ariens than my hand me down compact 24.

I was tempted to upgrade my 55" LG to a 70", but I realized I really should also upgrade the receiver and the combined price has stopped me for now.

I'm using the current TV's inputs for everything and using HDMI ARC to get the audio to the receiver, but most newer sets have fewer inputs than my current one. My current receiver (a ~7 year old Yamaha) doesn't support 4k so I can't use it as the switcher.

For a receiver, I was looking at a Yamaha RX-V4A. I've never had a bad Yamaha receiver even on their entry level products and that one looked like it would future proof me for a while.

I got the x500 for the locking diff since I have a lot of slopes that I need to mow and my previous lesser machine struggled with traction. Fortunately, none of the areas I need to clear snow from are sloped.
I'm planning on putting up a shed in the spring - right now I'm thinking an 8x16 is a cost effective option that should fit the tractor, ATV, and miscellaneous smaller stuff.

we have a 18x32 barn in the corner of the property on a hill with a poured foundation. Lower level has a full garage door, main level is my woodshop/storage. The slope behind would be too much for the machine in the snow. My BIL 4x4 kubota struggled with it a couple years ago.
