Hello All - I'm curious whether it's possible to replace/upgrade my OEM "bulbs" to LED? I'd rather not switch the entire headlight units since they are in good condition.

Ugh. Thanks (both) for your timely replies. That’s a lot of information to chew through and digest. But maybe I should just look for better Halogen bulbs instead. Plug & Play easy stuff? Any recommendations?

You could just get fresh bulbs in there and then polish the housing lenses if they're clouded.

I know everyone thinks LED/HID/Xenon with the 5000k color temp are the fancy and best way, but the human eye's night vision abilities work much better with yellow (<3500k) light. This is especially true if you regularly have to drive at night, in the rain, on roads that are paved black asphalt. With >3500k color temps, you're just going to reflect that light off the wet ground and you may lose track of where the lane dividers are. I learned this way back when Sylvania released their SilverStar bulbs that were all the rage and nearly gave myself a stroke one night while driving in the rain and couldn't see shit.

Replace, yes. Upgrade, no - it's a huge downgrade.

Yes, actually read the link that @crashnburn80 posted.

Cliff notes / tl;dr: Upgraded wiring harness and higher wattage halogen bulbs.
End of thread. Close it up.
