Did anyone have to burp the coolant system when you put the IAC back on?

Usually sorts itself out pretty fast when the engine gets to temp the first time and the thermostat opens.

Copy that. And should I be disconnecting the battery to let the system reset itself before I start it?

It's optional, won't hurt anything either way. Try firing it, if it acts goofy you can reset it. Should casually relearn either way

Take it for a short drive if it acts goofy it might be a good idea to reset but after getting fully to temp it should relearn anyway

So looks like I forgot to reconnect the MAS so that caused the high idle. So now we’re surging idling at 1500. Check engine light is on. I’ll take it for a spin in a second

We must have different ideas of complicated. I feel like everything is pretty straight forward with Toyotas.

They're pretty good in general, the locker design was kickass for the 80s, passable for the 90s, and it shouldn't have made it into the 00s at all, too many moving fragile parts and points of corrosion and water ingress and better options existed. They could've done better. The newest toyotas have addressed the problem in fact. They knew it needed improvement and went about changing it... to something similar to a Harrop in fact. Two moving parts, all integral

It's called business. If it is better than the competition why change?

Well Toyota is the master of innovation at the last minute, I'll give them that. Though the lockers on Fords and Chevies were better long before they did anything.

Anyone ever use dorman u bolts? Low range sent me a set that's 3/8 too wide, and I'm not able to wait a week or more for replacements.

Not sure about dorman, but I've gotten the off the shelf ubolts at the parts stores before, they're 1/2" and cheese grade, they strip if you look at em sidewards. So skip those

That's what I was hoping not to hear. I found a set of 9/16 x 3in dorman, but figure they're the same as all the other parts house u bolts.

I'm not wanting to re use, this would be the second time for the current u bolts.
