I live in a rural area with very few hydrants, second truck out is our engine-tanker.

Nah. We haven’t added Red Bull to the trucks tank.

East Coast Tanker vs. West Coast Tender is like Northern Ladder Company vs. Southern Truck Company.

Either way, with the increasing number of electric vehicles on the roads these days, tactics have to evolve. One story from Texas stated they used over 30,000 gallons of water to put one out.

30k gallons, hours of time and resources spent. Folks don't want to talk about the down sides of electric vehicles. It amazes me that the best method to put them out is "keep pouring water on it until it stops."

Just a one off, as the Tesla fan boys will point out. The first one caught the whole house on fire as it was charging at home.

FYI if you ever bump or touch one, they record on contact. Wife backed into one and let the owner know right away who was still in the building and found out they already had been alerted moments before

The tech on them is incredible. I'll give them that, as I have taken a look at them up close firsthand, but, there is a point where there is such a thing as TOO MUCH tech. I feel like the automotive industry has crossed over that threshold. Granted, I have seen my fair share of regular internal combustion engine fires, but these seem a bit more on the unpredictable side.

Todays version of an electronic car is not the answer, it’s not saving anything.

Wait until a Tesla ignites a wild fire. That will make for some interesting headlines.

Gonna be hard to find. EV's are designed for aerodynamics and esthetics suffer.

The best interior I've seen so far is the Mercedes EQS, the outside design isn't so great.

One thing to consider before letting it burn. Exposures.

My son has been giving friends and family rides in it and they are all pretty much blown away. Several now have a Tesla on the next car shopping list. These people who are wigging out about electric cars are doing the same thing that horse and buggy enthusiasts did when cars first came out back in the late 1800s early 1900s. It's called progress. LOL.

Metal fires (like lithium) are hard to put out. The water is basically to cool it down. Look up some thermite reactions/fires.
