Hoping for snow here that last three days. It was 30° the last three and now its raining at 38°. Just cant win!

 

Its already been snowing and sleeting around here. Penndot didn't salt the mountain or the base of it so a semi hauling coconuts spun out, crashed into a power pole, and lines are across the road. So now one outta two ways East out of town are closed. I don't have to work today, so I got lucky there...

 

Cheer up Whateverers. You may think it an ordinary Monday. But you would be wrong. Today is our special day. National Fruitcake Day! To commemorate this occasion @OneGiraffe will bake and overnight each of us her special recipe fruitcakes. She is not aware of this yet so imagine her surprise.

reminded me of a late friend and former employer...he was a good person.
I've always had a bit of fear of heights and one day they needed my help on the roof, required a long climb up one of those ladders with cage around it. I told him I wasn't sure it looked kind of scary...he said think of something you really like that makes me happyhe had same reaction to my answer..
I did make it to the roof though!

 

So, never one to be put off by impending hardship, inclement weather, plagues of locusts or tax audits, I fearlessly trekked to a cave atop a mountain in the Himalayas. Seeking a legendary, wise old hermit rumored to have been a HobbsYeti in a former life.
I asked him the question burning in my heart for so long.
“Oh Wise One” I implored “Please tell me. What is the meaning of life?”
He thought about it for a time. Then smoked a bowl and thought about it some more. He scratched his balls, farted profusely and finally answered.
“Life is a cereal made by Quaker Oats. Mikey likes it.”
