Seems like a good price. Right now anything selling at MSRP is a good price. Some dealers only add the market value adjustment if the vehicle is on there lot.

I just pulled the trigger on a 2022 SR base model, 2wd, 2.7L, double cab. MSRP with a few options, convenience package, connectivity kit, widow tint, floor mats.

    Lake Charles Toyota in Louisiana
    $29,500 plus TTL
    $32,799 after TTL
Put the deposit down today, 12/27/21. It's currently in transit from the port.

I'm totally pleased with the price and transaction. I'm in New Orleans and local dealers are marking up cars by $3k. My local dealer has this exact truck, USED, on the used lot for $37k. All the Gulf States dealers are adding the TSS package to the SR's so finding a base SR has been impossible.

The Lake Charles dealer handled everything with me via phone/text/email and we buttoned things up in about an hour. Signed my buyer's order, left the deposit, have a VIN and spec sheet. Should have the truck within 2 weeks.

Ok I gotta brag a bit here - I paid around 41k for my fully loaded 21 OR M/T in mid October and then a month later traded that in for a 22 fully M/T Sport for $400. I got a $1600 discount on the OR and a $900 discount from MSRP on the Sport.

Back in 2020 I got a 4K discount on my TRD sport and a 2k discount on my 21 4Runner this summer.

Moral of the story - befriend your sales guy and he will hook you up, the dealership always has the ability to discount, let your sales guy do the negotiating and manipulation on your behalf ;)

    Interesting times...

    My 2018 TRDORDC MSRP $39,100, paid $35,000 in 2018.

Just traded it in w/ 19K miles, for a new 2022 TRDORDC exact same options. MSRP $40,371, Paid MSRP, no other adds. Got $37,500 for my trade. OTD $5,275 difference.

FIRST truck and I love it. Only 2 miles on the ODO when I picked it up. Wish I got a 4x4 OR, but I’m happy with what I have.

Bought mine 2022 two weeks ago in Texas at msrp. Decent money for my trade in. Traded in a 2018 chr that I paid $18k in 2019 with 10k miles and I traded it in with 40k miles and they gave me 19,500. What sucks was the “distributor add ons”. Part of the msrp where raptor style running boards, power locking tailgate, black out emblems and black tailpipe, carpet mats, mudguards and the bs vehicle protection package (350$) total add ons $2368. I like all except the protection package. How do you think I did?? 2022 SR5 Dclb.msrp

That was out the door price. I sprang for the undercoat, interior and exterior protection, excess electronics protection, etc. This truck is more than a commuter, it’s the truck I’ve been waiting 20 years for. I went for a lot of the extras, added dealer warranties. That’s where the dealership makes its money. The MSRP was $44,061 (that’s what the sticker said, and it matched the build tool on the website). Supposedly there was no automatic markup by the dealership (that’s what they say), but without knowing what they pay who really knows.

Congrats but holy sh*t that’s a lot for a Tacoma. Those add on’s are always a rip off, undercoating is trash it will rust underneath the coating because they trap moisture, $50 worth of fluid film yearly would keep you mint, any worthwhile ceramic coating for the exterior will set you back maybe $1000 from a reputable experienced detailer, dealer probably throwing on sealant. If you bought the extended warranties I’d cancel them asap and reach out here there’s a few places you can source for dealer cost. At least you got MSRP on the truck though which in todays market is solid. If you paid MSRP you paid more than the dealer did. Invoice is closer to $39k.

It’s a Commodore product. Actually I think it’s a third party product that is contracted to all the First Team auto groups. The dealership performs the service. It has a lifetime warranty (to original purchaser) against rust and weather damage. I’m sure you could Google it for the exact specs.

Well? Wish I’d known you prior to the sale. I did pay MSRP @ $44,061. I guess you live and learn. I don’t know enough about sales and car care products, and sales persons know how to up-sale. The coatings I got were all Commodore, which has a good consumer report. In any case, I love my truck, and sentimentally it’s priceless. Honestly, no regrets.

Just following up to my original post, I picked up my truck yesterday and my OTD price was as originally stated, $41,982. I’m extremely happy with what I paid and I also had them throw in a tonneau cover too. They also gave me $30,500 for my 17 Tacoma SR5 for a trade in.
