Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

@o313 saw some parts you made and saw you made a small CNC mill for your shop? Can you share any pictures with us?

 

First off let me preface this with the fact that I am not a good machinist or really a machinist at all. I am an IT person by trade and because of a few influences in my life I decided to get into machining as a hobby and because I'm a bit of an autodidact polymath but thats s self diagnoses.

Got a similar one for refrigeration work. Works pretty good too.

I have no idea last time I saw 0001 on Jan 1st maybe 25 or 30 years ago

Unless I was working then I only knew if someone said it is New Years

I loved those triple time Holiday Jobs.

 

Last time I was up at midnight was Y2K I do believe.

 

Yeah, that was so exciting I don’t know why I didn’t have a smoke after. Sure kept me busy for six months prior tho.

 

Feel better it never failed I always felt worse when trying to go to sleep.

Moving around and working I was focused on what I was doing

 

I figured if the world was going to the end I would just sleep through it.

Not that I thought it would.

 

Most New Years we'll have friends over or travel short distance and spend time with friends. Food and drink and board games usually a fun time and basically just excuse to get together, party some...
Except ol'Toe he don't party no more

It's OK, I'm always a sober driver and I never feel like I'd rather be dead the following morning

 

While we're in the subject of mills... I finished the workbench upgrade.



@o313 .. did you add the stepper motors etc yourself or did you buy it with it?

 

I will probably watch the east coast New Years at 9 pacific time and then go to bed. I can’t remember the last time I was up past midnight on New Years. Doesn’t matter what time the kids go to bed they seem to always wake up around 6 so definitely not staying up this year.

 

Looks great, I like the drawers as well for “stuff”

 

That was mostly my work with a kit from cncfuzion and motors from Probotix.

 

I’m going to start smoking Friday so I’ll have a bad habit to quit Saturday
