Yeah… guess you’re right. I think those long range tanks from Australia are just as much.

Anyone actually have the Titan Tank? Been looking into this for my reserve tank. Having 51 gallons would be nice.

Not quite, this modification is between the frame rails, the Pinto tank was not.

Thread was a train wreck from the start. Just looking at the 1st post I'm not sure if he wants dueling tanks or dual tanks. Or if he wants to use E85 and E10.

IMO there isn't a practical or cost-efficient way to increase the fuel capacity on a Tacoma. Even full size trucks are no longer running dual tanks but are now using a single large tank with 35-45 gallon capacity. And even if you do manage to increase the fuel carrying capacity you are also adding significant weight in both the tank and fuel to a truck that is already quite limited in payload. For those rare occasions where more fuel might be needed just invest in a couple of quality 5 gallon fuel cans to put in the bed when needed.

You bought the truck you bought. Live with the good and bad; and I think there is more good, than bad. But if having the ability to fill up with 30+ gallons of fuel was a priority then you bought the wrong truck.

Seems to me you are half way there already.

Just need to add an electric fuel pump and a switch in the cab. Then run a fuel line to the OEM tank.

When OEM tank is on E, hit the switch, fill the OEM tank (watch the gauge), turn off switch. You can "fill" while rolling. No need to stop.

Leave the auxiliary fuel tank on the trailer, just have it in tow.

If that were the case everyone on here would have a bone stock rig and the aftermarket off road industry would be nonexistent. Just sayin.

:rofl:Naw dude, if I was recommending a truck like a Titan for you, it would’ve been a Ridgeline. ;)

Check the Titan Sidekick out, it works really well with a Taco and holds almost 15 gallons. Don’t get those Amazon copies, they’re not tested and rated like a Titan is, they’re not cheap but they’re very safe.

Also, before I bought my Titan I had three of those round eagle safety cans that look like the round one someone else posted bere, But to be honest they suck. The corrugated filler tube bent up my filler port and the tank is a you know what when you try to hold it up in the air backwards while trying to drain all the gas from it into your tank.

As for the Titan, if you have a short bed Taco, the siphon hose they provide is long enough to reach. The siphon is really easy to use also, you just jiggle it up and down inside the fuel tank and a one-way valve on it gets the fuel flowing. They also provide a heavy duty bag to keep the hose in when you’re done so there’s no fuel smells.

    It's a tough sell at $1,000 a gallon.

Famous last words.....Let's revisit this in about 5-7 years.

You think the suspension could support all this if the rig is already loaded up......
