Yes, I have a boost gauge. Been waiting for for my gauge pod for installs but I can definitely wire it up temporarily to see boost level.

Maybe I need to get off my ass and and actually install the boost gauge. It’s all sitting in the garage. I have been low key dreading it after hearing everyone’s horror stories about that plug.

I think a little heat would do wonders for getting it out, mine stripped out while I had the manifold out of the truck so doing it while installed could get interesting.

It's been my observation that many of the Magnuson supercharger customers are on a wide range of ECU versions within the same model year (i.e., 04B13 and B14 for 2017 MTs, 04B31 and B33 for 2019 ATs, etc).

Have any Magnuson supercharger customers reached out to ask Magnuson if they'd be supported with an updated ECU tune file if their ECU version were to be updated?

For the NA side, the YotaWerx policy is to provide tunes for the most up-to-date ECU versions possible. This ensures that people get to take advantage of any underlying benefits from Toyota's ECU updates and simultaneously makes the burden of creating tunes easier.

I am trying to establish whether or not this policy works for Magnuson supercharger customers.

I updated right before leaving back in August or September and contacted them to get a tune for the latest ECU ID for my 19 6mt. They had no issues providing me with a new tune for that ID and got it to me rather quickly actually.

I have a slightly off topic question. I am making a deposit on a SC a week from today when the retailer/installer gets back to work. 4k with the remaining 4k due upon installation.
This is by far the most expensive thing I’ve ever even considered doing to a vehicle. How I managed to convince my wife it was beneficial for towing is beyond me. I’m still in shock. Since I’m dumping 25% of my trucks original retail cost into it, would it be prudent to insure it somehow? God forbid it gets totaled driving it off the lot when I pick it up. I’d hate to be out 8k for nothing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have Progressive and added an additional $5k of coverage for what they term custom parts and equipment. With the automatically included $1k in custom parts coverage that just about covers the cost of the supercharger which is the only major/expensive upgrade I've done.

I did not add any coverage. You’d have to be in one heck of a collision to damage the supercharger components. Your insurance will probably cover enough of it in the case the truck is totaled and the engine is crushed for you to get a used pickup and get another supercharger.

I figured the extra $100/year was worth not having to hassle over it if the time came and the truck is totaled. It’s simpler to show my receipt and get my $6k extra than to hope they overvalue the truck by $6k.

If you hang onto the stock parts you can easily pull the s\c off and keep it, then reinstall the old stuff. I've done that before with some stuff. Communicated with the insurance company and the wrecker company and went to their yard and pulled some parts that i could and then resold them on the forums. Lol

At that point you can resell it or keep it for the next truck. No money lost if you just reuse it (for the most part)

This is what I did. Easy to remove and the few parts you keep don't take much space and fit in one of the boxes the SC was sent in.

As an insurance professional I'd strongly encourage you to read your policy including all endorsements instead of relying on your agent to tell you what's covered. It's not uncommon for the policy to cover the vehicle's increase in value from modifications vs. the replacement cost of those mods. For example, you could spend $10k on the most outrageous pink paint job and not increase the value of the vehicle at all. No market for vehicles like that so no increase in value. That's an extreme example. Just trying to drive the point home.

Bottom line, read the policy before you need the coverage so you're sure that your carrier is going to give you what you think they owe you.

I kept the stock parts as well, just sitting in a box in the garage.
