There are a few out there already (search for "aisin hub tool), so that proves there's a market. If you can find a way differentiate yours a bit (eye-catching design, nifty storage solution, or simply cheaper) you could do alright. Maybe start a dedicated thread to show them off if you really want to sell a bunch.

it’ll work out as I plan to leave the tubes long and cut holes in the floor for them to drop through. I’ll probably end up making plates that the cage welds to and then the frame tie ins will be plated that match and bolt them together. Essentially sandwiching the body between the cage.

and it won’t be to hard to reference everything with body mounts etc. and I’ll have the cab next to the body to reference it all too.

edit: my dads made a few cages with the plate and sandwiching the floor with good success (one he’s rolled already with too) and it keeps it easy if I ever have to pull the body etc.

that's slick. i've seen some people add 1/2" drive mounts to their prints, but i hesitate to do that for 3d printing and sensitive plastic. but aluminum/metal would be awesome... love this

I’ve made a few with a slot for a 3/4 in wrench and those came out slick. I don’t have the tooling to make a hex easily bedsides but hand on the mill unfortunately EF0856D5-8FD3-41CF-85B6-6F6521CD2782.jpg

As soon as you yank the shifter on the transfer case the light comes on whether or not the hubs are locked.

Nice! I like your's better than my homebrew version. Your's will definitely take up less space in the console.

When I posted this originally, some of the warm weather guys were questioning the need, saying I must have too much grease in my L/Os. :D

nah, i like this. if only i had green filament.....

updated my design to accomodate for a sun visor clip. final piece is constructed of two smaller parts with a half lap connection and a few m3's and some washers holding everything together. happy with how it came out!

if anyone is interested, reach out. they'll also be for sale on my etsy page (linked in signature)... i might start a new thread in the BST forums as @6P4 kindly suggested...

There is no electrical connection to the manual hubs, so they would not have anything to do with a light.

As soon as you engauge at the shifter the light would come on, regardless of the hub dials.

If you made one for aisins hubs I might be interested. I like the 3d printed design badboypro has but since I'm running spacers I don't really think it'll work.

I have never needed tire chains before (which I guess means I wasn't exploring hard enough) but this last storm has made our Tahoe cabin and surroundings less accessible and so I caved and bought a pair of those Peerless Auto-Trac chains.

    peerless chains.jpg

Worked well on the rears but still had a bit of understeer (fun, fun) a few times. I thought that we couldn't use chains on our fronts because they might flail and tear brake lines or something but I swear that in the last week or so I have seen someone on here (@turbodb maybe) sporting sets on the front as well so want to know if that is safely a possibility and, if so, what chains are people using. TIA
