Wouldn’t be liquids anymore. What makes steam dangerous is failure of containment vessels and the huge energy difference between steam and water. Anyone caught in a lox or ch4 event would be frozen solid instead of cooked. I wonder how tall it would be to contain it after combustion. Might be an interesting way to think about what it takes to reach orbital altitude and also orbital velocity in terms of fuel volume before/after.

Lots of workplace harassment suites coming out of Musk run companies. Hopefully that doesn't implode things at SpaceX. It's almost like running companies devoid of resources to manage your employees health and wellbeing is a bad idea long term.

Yeah, the problem is when you read some of their claims. I have and couldn't believe it. Apparently some guys have the audacity to hug girls and ask them on dates. One guy even found this girls Instagram and messaged her for a date on a holiday break. Though she did say a guy touched her butt. In her residence... Makes me wonder if it's real or just people trying to make waves.

It's well known Musk believes in running his companies without functional human resources and public relations departments. Odds are these issues could of been handled with the first department.

You have to take this shit seriously man. Look at Activision/Blizzard. What starts as butt touching escalates if there's no direction from the company on what's kosher between employees.

Point being the Raptor engine assembly is dragging on, the last thing Musk needs is a scandal internally or, worse, an external investigation.

Also curious how SpaceX is going to handle the near misses with the Chinese Space station. It looks like independent telemetry confirms that a deorbiting Starlink Satellite came within 3 km of the station after the station made an emergency maneuver. The Chinese are even making the complaint under international law, which technically means the US gov't is expected to punish SpaceX for further near misses. It'll be interesting to see that play out.

Shotwell’s on the record for an independent investigation.

    Hope it’s not a sham.

No excuse for pervs, creepers or criminals in the workplace.

Musk is known to run lean HR departments that operate quickly and more often than not use common sense to solve issues. Yes, you have to take butt touching seriously. But as I said. The alleged butt touching did not happen AT work. It happened at her HOME by someone she just happens to work with. At that point it is out of HR's hands, and is a criminal matter. Then you have women who think that the mere act of saying "hello" to them is sexual harassment. Yes, those really exist, and with Musk employing 100,000+ employees, odds are that he has more than a few employees with mindsets like that. Also the pendulum swings both ways. Cracking down on someone for merely being accused will create as many problems as doing nothing. And in the end, after reading the complaints of the accusers, it's sounding more like this is the "news" trying to stir up fear for a headline more than it sounds like a pattern of events on the verge of being a pandemic that will bring down the company. Now I could be wrong, And I'll admit it if I am, I've just worked in this industry long enough that I don't think I am. I've worked with former spacex and tesla employees, and neither the males or females has suggested anything even remotely happens. Really the only complaints I've heard were long hours, and lots of time spent correcting the mistakes of idiots.

Reminds me of this guy I worked with. Used to be a limo driver for THE michael jordan, still talks to him on his lunch breaks. Partied with Hugh Hefner, Arnold and sylvester, and had sex with BRITNEY SPEARS while she was all methed up. I mean in reality he basically admitted he date raped her. And despite reporting it to my buddy, who is a police officer, no investigation was ever launched. So one day He "slipped and fell" at walmart. He says he is going to sue them for a million dollars. After 4-5 months he was on his 4th or 5th lawyer. This lawyer tried to use reason and common sense. Asked him, how can you be claiming an injury or damages when you didn't go to the doctor, and haven't missed a day of work. So 4 months after he fell he took a day off, and his excuse to me was "my lawyer told me i need to take a day off" This was an "adult" in his late 40's early 50's at a shop with 50 people, and he wasn't even the most insane one there! The stories I have heard over the years... I can only imagine 100,000 employees.

I thought Spacex had chosen one of the lowest orbits ever for Starlink, guess I was wrong there. Really though 3km is a good distance away. Nearly 2 miles in freedom units. Though I wonder how they're going to avoid those near misses with the satellite internet constellation they have planned that's supposed to be at a very similar orbit as Starlink... Not even mentioning the debris field China created when they blew up an old satellite and how it endangered the ISS. But hey that was so last month... Literally.

The near misses were on planned deorbits supposedly. From what China is saying they didn't like having to move their space station when SpaceX could of chosen to deorbit their satellites at a different time to avoid a possible collision.

I mean politics is always involved with this stuff. The US is no better. They blew up a decaying satellite, what, about a decade ago when they could of let it fall out of orbit? Their excuse that a paper thin hydrazine tank was going to survive deorbit was a completely moronic cover up for an ASAT test.

Ultimately it's more interesting that China is supposedly considering filing a grievance under international treaty. I think this is the first time a private company has been put in this position. Musk made some comments on it today that I only half caught around it not being a space problem but a traffic contr problem. He's right, but if SpaceX doesn't manage it's deorbits the US government may choose to control them and that would be bad for SpaceX.
