That would be an option for most, I have a DB cover, so no go for me. Not going to drill into it either since I will be opening and closing it. I also have a bed rack on top of it.

In your case, I would tend to agree with the warranty with all the bells and whistles. I tend to stay with low trim level trucks so most of the fancy crap that breaks is stuff I’ve added myself.

speaking of, finally got my seat heaters wired in yesterday, much nicer for cold mornings!

Ah. I knew you had the rack didn't know it wasn't an open bed underneath.

I'd check out rago first maybe. Otherwise bed rack is probably best. I noticed that too with the same antenna and mount, it wasn't terrible and probably would be fine long term. I would look at putting a piece of weather strip along the tailgate where it COULD rub. But I think most of the flex is in the mount and not in the bedside.

Yeah, I might have to figure something out for a re-route in my case then. Putting it on the roof rack would be best I guess. That's going to make the truck hella tall.
Yeah, all the flex is in the mount, and it flexes a bit more than I would really like. I might wait on getting the Rago since I have the mounts for both sides.

The other idea I had is to get a 102" whip and just have an anchor when I'm not using it (which will be most of the time). That way it would also be out of the way and not smack everything I go under.

What kit did you go with? I keep meaning to add heated seats to the girlfriend's weirdly optioned Mazda.

Could just take the firestick down when you're not using the radio. Just be sure not to TX without that in there.

@CttAznRanger knows this story. I was stopped at a stop light in Walpole and a local cop lit me up and gave me a warning saying any light above the hood needs to have either a orange cover or a a blackout one.

My front facing are orange, but everything else is either clear or doesn't have a cover... So, yeah...

I mean, I don't have THAT many. only the two pods and one small bar facing forward. My setup is more like, LIGHT EVERYWHERE.
If you want to talk about forward facing, I believe @RobP62 has us beat.
Also, in that picture, what the heck is with those steps? Chains to help step up? That's a first I've seen that.

I bought a KBD kit of Amazon. It was well reviewed and easy to install but the wiring sucked. I couldn`t make sense of how the harness is working but it does. It has a funky switch that does the regulating so its not a simple on and off sort of thing. I will be tearing into it this summer to find a way to key it off the ignition. I was planning to use the cigarette lighter as a trigger but the harness doesn`t work that way so i`ll need to be more creative. Otherwise, they do work as advertised. I went with heated bottoms and back.

That works too. Just remember to tune it again once you're set up!

I like those too. I might have to get one so I can go through car washes.

THAT'S what you notice in that picture

That's actually my plan too. I have enough light going forward with the high and low and now ditch lights. Might get a roof rack to do them off the sides and then some rear flush mounts. With the intent of being able to illuminate around me in the driveway for clearing snow, or camping, or whatever.

That's exactly what I did, minus the rear flush ones.

For winter driving, never know when you’ll need to chain up those tires.

I have the Rago. Also, on a quick release. When the firestik is attached, no issues over a few thousand highway... but, it isn't typically attached... so, less concern.
