Anyone know if it is possible to add a folding 3rd seat to the front row. I’m aware that the shifting gears and storage is there but is it possible?

Maybe there is a simpler solution to your problem?

It's a shame that Toyota Corp thinks everyone wants bucket seats up front. I miss the 60/40 split front bench option in the of the 1st gen Tacoma. It was so easy to swap them back then. I don't see any easy, clean way to do this with the 3rd gen.

Anything is possible. You would also have to deal with inverter, it's under console.

You would probably need to step up to a full sized truck with a column shifter in order to get a bench seat today.

I’m not sure what problem you are trying to solve.
