Trail rigs have a purpose. Not having to give a fuck about damage is one of the major benes along with everything else.

I thought it was only those crazy Russians that had a portal kit. Of course, the Aussies are right there.

Ground to oil change door on TRD Skid: 13.5" (It might not be the lowest point on the front skid. I just used it as a reference point.)
Ground to rear diff: 10.25 (larger diff that comes on the OR and 6MT; not sure if it matters)

LT255/85r16 and ~2" lift front and rear

Lift does in fact increase ground clearance in the front, however the lowest point is the rear diff. One limitation is that the front ground clearance decreases when the suspension compresses, which is something you have to be constantly aware of when wheeling.

OP, 9.25" on the front seems small to me. Where did you measure it? Also, what is your ground to rear diff measurement?

One caveat: the lowest point of the front is probably the LCAs, but for the most part you can avoid that limitation with proper line choice. IFS ground clearance is a bit complicated.

I can't even imagine the turning radius. It was comparable to a yacht stock because of the 5cyl sitting sideways. At that, they even had rub plates for the tires in the wheel wells.

We all want to hate it. But we’ll be hating it while it climbs past us after we run out of ground clearance.

Toyota Megacruiser has ground clearance for days. IFs and IRs with portals wins against all other concepts. Looks like it is hovering over the wheels.

First off, thank you for being the first person to actually post their numbers and answer my questions lol
Second off, stock is roughly 9.25 to the front diff and my drop bracket kit takes it back to stock height with 33s. Ground to rear diff, which I don't have a drop diff kit on the rear axle (because that'd be weird af and maybe not even possible), is about 10.5 but I'm more concerned with the front diff because my front skid takes a beating

But 13.5? That seems way too high because stock is supposedly 9.4 inches, lift kits (unless drop kits) don't effect ground clearance, and you have 2 inch bigger diameter tires (33s over 31s) so realistically your ground clearance should only be 10.5 (1 inch from the center of the tire). Do you wheel anywhere? Actually offroad?

Yeah I'm really talking inside the control arms for width purposes because with IFS, LCAs will typically be the lowest point

I have a 2” IFS lift and 33” tires for a total of 3” over stock, but like I said the oil change door on the TRD skid might not be the lowest point. It’s also possible I screwed up the measurement. I have my stock tires on at the moment so can’t measure it for real.
