We took a test drive in a Tesla. The first time I gave it the juice, my wife was WTF?! I was WTF?! Then we both giggled like children. It's like an amusement park ride and the fastest car I have ever driven, period. People should seriously give it a try. All you have to do is go to Tesla's web site, schedule a test drive, bring proof of insurance, a valid drivers license, and have fun. There is absolutely zero dealership BS. The guy that helped us was all, this is how you put it in drive, these are the important touch screen items, see you in 30 minutes.

Our experience was almost the same with the model 3. Lol. We also tried the model Y performance too. That was roller coaster acceleration. Unfreakin believable like a rocket taking off.

I don't park next to them because their drivers can't drive or park to save their lives, lol. I do love seeing these videos though. Everytime an EV catches fire an angel gets it's wings, or something...

What happens when Elon takes the money and runs? Overnight Tesla could cease to exist shut their factories down, stop producing parts, and close all their dealerships?

The time will come when mainstream auto manufacturers will put the pressure on the EV outliers. They will be forced to sell and be bought out, or shut down.

No other vehicle ever has spontaneously combusted...

Within the last year a truck at our local FD spontaneously combusted despite not being touched in 3 weeks and no one being around at the time.

Lots of vehicles and power equipment spontaneously combusts. I don't think Teslas spontaneously combust on average any more than any other vehicle make on the road. Tesla, is probably one of the rarest brands on the road in comparison to the other brands on the road. There are a lot of documented incidents of Teslas having caught fire due to various reasons.

And there are even more documented incidents of other vehicles catching fire as well. The difference is Tesla tends to be in the spotlight more by virtue of who they are and what they do.

Tesla is the most recognized name in EVs. People are not surprised what an ice gas powered vehicle catches fire, since they run on flammable liquid. I would imagine most ice vehicle fires are electrical for the most part. I also think people are caught off gaurd when a Tesla, or electrical vehicle catches fire
Due to the flammable liquid gasoline is absent.

The fires are more intense when they do happen. That will create more attention to the vehicle fire as well. Making it a bigger story to report on. Which also feed into the controversy of EV. That are not that controversial to begin with.

First responders like to draw attention to EV fires, as they do not have the resources to respond and extinguish an EV fire. In a timely manner as they would an ice vehicle fire. Probably with goal of obtaining what they need to handle the situation.

There are probably more commercial vehicle, and large truck fires than there are personal vehicle fires. Given the amount of millage and time commercial vehicles are on the.

Yes. Technology will continue to evolve in both battery and fire fighting, among other things.

I'm surprised EVs are allowed on ferries. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Nobody going to google the amount of "other vehicles" on the road compared to Tesla? k then.... Probably why the "statistics" are higher? Any mathematicians care to do the ratio? It's pretty fucken high for EV's compared to literally every vehicle on the road, lol.

Least it's not on fire. Still would have probably been easier and cheaper if you could bring the fuel to the vehicle. Like in a gas can. I wonder if the colder temperatures, and frozen precipitation on the ground, reduced battery range, that driver didn't take into consideration?
