That looks like wayyyy too much preload on those kings, they might be over extending. According to accutune, you shouldn’t have more than 12-14 threads showing.

Should never be more then 21" from lower eye to upper eye with weight on according to Accutune.

If they're short springs it may still be okay as far as length but they're probably going to run into coil bind.

I have 14" 700lb springs on mine with only 3ish threads on passenger and 7ish on driver after settling puts me at 20 7/8th with weight on.

Just been doing research on electrical stuff for my truck.

My maintenance light is flashing when I start my truck so it's getting close for an oil change.

I'm no longer hearing the "pop" when I back into my parking space. I think my lower ball joint was bad on the passenger side.
Still need to replace the drivers side lower control arm and press in a new shock bushing.

The heck were you using to probe? A jumper wire straight to ground?

Hopefully you didn't do any further damage. :fingerscrossed:

    Few from last week:

Revamped my limb risers and installed the tandem Offroad winch box mount; took some time and brain juice but I'm glad it's done:

Got a flat on my way into work, so took that as a sign i shouldnt go in, and should work on the truck instead, so I installed my long anticipated JBA UCA's and new Eibach front pro lift springs. The UCA's install was relatively simple and straightforward. Once I removed the old springs and compared to the new ones I realized I didn't have the balls to attempt using the widowmaker Macpherson tool with these behemoths. Took it to a shop who felt they could do it, and after a few attempts (and a few scratches on the finish) they couldn't and sent me across the way to a shop that services motorhomes. They did it for me for free (tipped the tech $60, but still a steal). Getting an alignment today but I can already feel a difference.

To answer your question, I need to get some grip on the back side of those straps. Not sure exactly how I want to do that yet.

Maybe stitch some thin silicone liner to it, or put little strips of skateboard deck tape on the bars.

Worst comes to worst weld little tabs on either side of where you want the strap.

Worst part about that second option is finding a welder; finding someone to weld steel is hard but aluminum is a damn unicorn. When I was needing those hoops welded, it took 6 weeks of trying to find someone and then canceling on me a few times.

If you were in Florida I know a good handful of capable GTAW aluminum welders but aluminum armor sure does complicate matters for that sort of thing.

Spent the last couple days looking over wiring diagrams comparing quad cab, ext. cab and regular cab trucks.

Found a couple part numbers online and finally found the part number (dash harness) I need to order.

This came in super handy for looking up parts.

Actually, I was trying to sort the wiring for a new cali raised foglight switch.... plugging the switch wiring into the existing foglight harness.
I was following a wiring diagram I found but must have crossed a wire...
I replaced the fuse and everything is groovy.

Still need to install the foglight button and find a tap for dash illumination for the lightbar and foglight buttons.
I want the buttons to illuminate the text when the headlights come on and illuminate the image when the accessory is on.

If it comes back, check your CV's. Mine would pop when I would back out of the driveway. Rebuilt them and it went away. Now a year later I started hearing it again, looked under the truck and apparently my clamp broke, boot was off, and there was no grease left. Hopefully when I take them apart this weekend they are salvageable and can just clean, grease, and reassemble.

When I pulled the lower control arm off I checked the ball joint and it was making some noise.

The CV boots have a slight tear in them and one is leaking grease, but that is from me not installing the diff drop kit when I installed the lift.
The noise was there before I did the lift. I'll be installing these boots when I replace them: https://www.cvjreman.com/product/bootrt08/
