Are no written instructions here to stay? Wrenching with an iPad is getting old

I’ve never used that, interesting! I already knew how to wire horns so the instructions were just interesting and polarity is all that mattered. Google lens might be helpful in the future though!

Might be the second time I've used it ever lol, but its like that with a lot of very useful tools - you never need it until you do.

Personally, I don't have a preference where I get my instructions - I'll watch a YouTube video and pause it at the critical parts, have two or three Tacoworld posts open in tabs and whatever papers came with whatever I am working on all grease stained and tucked under whatever I just removed as a paperweight. They all have their advantages, they don't always all agree but between them all it gets the job done.

I work on Fleet vehicles and haven't seen a printed repair manuals in about 10 years from manufacturers. All supplied manual are online. This doesn't make a repair manual amy better. In one online manual, I was looking up information on the Power Steering System; the Power Steering section referred me to the Hydraulic section. The Hydraulic section reffered me to the Power Steering section.:annoyed:

And you are not really missing anything, if we are all being honest. Handy tools for some stuff like navigation, flashlight, but absolutely worthless if the battery dies out in the woods.

Or if there is no cell service out in the woods.

Having everything in the cloud / accessible via internet is great, until you cannot connect to the internet.

I can always pull a book from my library...

For what it’s worth, I’m a millennial that owns a commercial printing company. We do a lot of instruction sheets for folks across many industries and products that are seen across the globe.

Some things are just better in print. Great example is the tear and waterproof stock we use for some aerospace and water meter/pipe fitter manufacturers. Probably not nice to be in the field soaking wet trying to use an iPad/laptop to look up a torque spec when all the stuff you need is on one waterproof sheet attached to the part.

So you can laminate a 12-panel H-Size drawing?
That is cool, but probably expensive...

We do a lot of 24x36” CAD and architectural prints. Mostly on 20/24lb, doubt we’ve laminated many that size. Usually too long of a run to make sense. I’d probably print on our latex machine on a water resistant poster stock or poly material if it just had to be that tough for some reason.
