    Indeed they are.

I am going to swap the Clear Driving Lens back on when the new bezels arrive as the snow has stopped and is too cold for fog (Floating around 20 degrees and less here in WA)

Did you aim them straight forward or to match the factory high beams?

They're aimed right at the top of the low beam cutoff, which is kinda where the high beam hot spots are as well. They are more intense than the high beams but have less overall flood/spread light. You can see the camera struggle to adjust the exposure when they're snapped on.

I'm curious what the JWs run at.

I again used my max fogs in snow this week, super cold and dry. They are amazing for snow.

If you all are thinking of upgrading from sports, don't think twice and use the credit card for Maxes.

Tested after freezing the truck for the evening in 25 degree F temps in the snow, I fired it up and took measurements after 15 minutes run time. The heated JW Speaker J2 headlights had heater failures again. The DD Max fogs take 30 minutes to reach stable operating temp, but even after 15 minutes the Max fogs were at 125 degrees in 25 degrees ambient in snow.

I was really hoping those panned out so I could list both sets of maxes to go along with the extra driving lenses. OH well :)

I get the feeling Crash may be considering a set of koito 7" H4's with the rate these lamps keep failing to keep the lenses heated. Would be some interesting new tests in the 2nd gen H4 thread, to see how the different bulbs performance translate to another lamp as well.

Are you sure that's not all the warmer they get? I'll make the assumption that you already know what the values should be though. I'm just saying that they're both considerably warmer in relation to ambient (isn't that snow falling in the photo), and they are both the same. It would also be very curious that they both fail independently.

    Maybe they just... suck. :notsure:

Interestingly, a Land Cruiser owner recently contacted me wanting to sponsor a 7” lamp comparison and Koitos are on the list.

The headlights were running for 30+ minutes in the photo, the heat is just from the power consumption by the assembly. The heaters when active get hot to the touch, way beyond those measured values. I validated the heaters worked prior to install. But I think my test logic was flawed here. I bet idling with no movement, caused the engine temp to be warm enough to switch off the heaters. They probably need some cold air flow to register the cold temp and keep them active. Going to take it for a spin and test that theory.

A 7" round comparison would be interesting for sure. Would you consider starting a new thread in the lighting subforum as a "catch-all" testing thread? Maybe move or copy your posts with the various non-thread-specific lamps there?

(Also: mad props to your time investment, let alone the money you've sunk into all this over the years.)
