My shocks coming are gonna have 16x650. Kinda wanna try 18x600 as well. Then again, I have no valving yet.

Anyone know what valving JD 2.25+ spec is? @81Trekker

My race truck is now my drug addiction, actually I’m pretty sure drugs would be cheaper actually. Unfortunately I’m at the point where something that costs 1,100 is on the cheaper end of the list that needs to be done.

I’m going to give the total chaos alignment tabs a whirl and see how they hold up. I’m sure for actual jumping and bottoming out they won’t hold up, but it’ll be good enough for a place holder since they’re literally on my shelf waiting for me to install along with 3 other things but I have no time.

The cam tab gussets are good to keep the tabs from bending or sheering, but they don’t do much to hold alignment. I’m running stop-cams from bison off road to keep the cams from rotating. It’s a cheap measure since I’m not pushing the truck too hard yet. I might spring for the pivot kit someday if I push my truck hard enough to bend the LCA mounts.

You can’t base the valving in your Locked shocks off another manufacturer. The flow characteristics will be vastly different. Assuming they didn’t replicate someone else’s product.

True. I don’t know anything about the internals other than it’s a 2.5 diameter Shock….

Idk where to start with LT shocks other than standard 2.5x8. Everyone specs their kit and treats it like it’s a secret sauce, which I get. But this piecing together a LT kit has been a pain in the ass. I’m going to ditch the solo kit for the JD kit. Got a promotion at work and have the money for it now.

Yeah, you may save a few bucks but overall you don’t have the same support and it can be a huge headache.

    Congrats on the promotion though!

What are you all using for aluminum skid plate thickness on front bumpers? I'm thinking 3/16" 6061 but figured I'd get some input

Most are 3/16 - you could always go thicker.

I can't say I used 6061 but 3/16" didn't work for me. I went thru 3 of them in the first 5 years. I use 1/4" now, same skid for 6+ years.

If I had to build one I would go 1/4” as well. Minimal extra weight and cost and will be a good bit stronger.

thin chromoly could be a good option too. The front section of mine is .090 4130 it's pretty light and easy to work with
