Didn’t Eaton (Harrop) say they had one of those built for the 2nd Gen a few years ago!?

I poked around with eaton and Superchargers online last year and got the "it's never going to happen" treatment.

They did, but it was a prototype which has since disappeared into oblivion. There was one and then after that they abandoned the project and it never came to be after that.

A machinist could easily do something about it though with a nice solid block of aluminum, some measurements, and a CAD file with all of those measurements.

Lol. No way did you just say that. It's also not that simple.. at all. The money into the Mills alone to make just the rotors are top tier. Not to mention all the time into the programming. I make parts that go to space and I dream of working with the Mills and Software used for Rotors/Turbines. This is why they cost so much.

making a spacer/adapter does sound possible. making s/c rotors is science beyond me.

Well now we're talking.. I thought the talk was about the Rotors themselves.

Why can't we just buy the TVS based latest gen 4runner "high output" 1GR supercharger and adapt that?

You guys are jumping to conclusions like those Olympic pole vaulters.

Hahaha. Well now, I'm sure a project like this would require one sacrificial truck to be down for god knows how long and the person sacrificing their truck would have to have some damn good measuring tools to give to the machinist I'd imagine. I'm sure this would be something that takes years. You see how long it takes for our other group buys to develop and come to reality.

On top of several other obstacles that need to be overcome as well. A 6 rib pulley setup, thermostat housing outlet design change, spacer adapter (obviously) mounting bracket bolt ups, and that's just what I can think of.

It would be easier to make an adapter to be able to fit in the TVS rotors rather than attempting to modify the Gen 2 4.0L TVS blower entirely.

If it was easy, the powers at be would have made and produced those rotors all ready!

But I do remember when brand new legit TRD SC’s plus kits were under 3k on eBay :D

If I recall correctly, the great minds in this thread tried this option before and decided that there wasn't enough room to convert to a 6 rib system.

Not to change the subject, but does anyone have part numbers for all the idlers in the supercharger setup with the pulleys? I don’t really want to fiddle with separating the pulleys from the bearings and one of them is bad so I figure I should just replace them all. I called supercharger’s online for their double rollers but it didn’t seem they have them in stock except one which does me no good.

On second thought, I just ordered the bearings online. I found the trd part numbers and they are stupidly expensive and I couldn’t get the trd part #s to cross reference anywhere. At the price toyota is asking I could almost get a whole supercharger fit kit.
