No I haven't but worth a try to see. That and maybe use the manual shift mode to see. I was watching it today coming home from work. It starts around 25 mph when decelerating and continues until the truck stops. It gets less and less the slower the truck gets. This is also the same time the truck downshifts into 1st and the RPM's go up to around 2k.

Update. This morning I dropped the transmission into neutral around 45 mph when coming to a light and the same vibration started around 25 mph and continued until it dropped around 10 mph so it does not appear to be related to first gear. I also tried accelerating really slow and it started around 10 mph and continued through to about 25 mph which at that point it smoothed out. It's not noticeable when accelerating since normally it gets from 10 to 25 mph quickly. For me I feel it mostly in the steering wheel and a bit in the pedals. It's such a low resonating type of vibration that even with my hands off the wheel you can't see any shaking of the wheel. Someone else mentioned it, it feels like the truck is going over really small, fine rumble strips. If it is a tire balancing issue it doesn't feel like any out of balance vibration I have ever encountered. Unless it's a design flaw or something my guess it is normal since three other new Tacoma's I test drove all did the same thing.

I'd call it common but not really normal since 2/3 of the poll responses said they didn't have it. I had a 2018 SR DC 4x4 and it didn't vibrate either. Also if it was a tire balance issue, it would get progressively worse as you drive faster so this is something else, or likely a combination of things based on all the threads on this forum.

My 21 sport had the vibration. The dealer ended up replacing the leaf packs, steering damper and adjusted the diff angle. It went away after that. I had it all done at 500 miles. Now I gotta fix my stupid needle bearing vib after I put the TRD lift on.

That's reassuring! That TSB doesn't apply to the 2022s yet but maybe they'll change that. Did that new leaf pack stiffen the ride or raise the rear end of the truck? Also, how did they adjust the diff angle? In the TSB, I see they're supposed to check the angle but don't see anything about adjusting it with shims or anything. How long after the lift install did the needle bearing wear out? That really seems like something Toyota should fix since it is their lift kit after all!

It was probably pre adjusted with the new TSB pack. it has a shim in the pack and my stock ones I dont believe had the shim.

Hmm, I'll look at the TSB again. Didn't see the shim before. So did it make it ride more firm or raise the height at all?

No it didn’t raise anything. Maybe 1/8” because the shim is very thin. Truck ride exactly the same after the tsb

No vibrations in my 19 TRD DBLCB Sport. 25,000 mi. I've had it since last January with 13,000 mi.

The TSB mentions standard springs and stiff springs, both from the OE factory build. Does anyone know how these two different OEM (pre-tsb fix) springs affect which trucks vibrate and which don't? I'm wondering if the trucks with the stiff springs tend to not have this issue and the soft spring trucks end up vibrating more often...

I have a ‘22 SR5 that has 980 miles and the the same issue. It’s a bit concerning since it seems that even vehicles that had the “fix” aren’t fixed… guess I’ll take it in to the dealer and see what they say. :fingerscrossed:

980 miles is pretty low. My 2020 sr5 had a very slight vibration at those speeds coming down to a stop that lasted somewhere around 1200-1500 miles if i recall. Seemed almost overnight it disappeared. I've just turned 16k miles, and still vibration free. I still think it was the converter breaking in when it came to my truck as i'd put the transmission in neutral at those speeds while applying the brakes...i'd get no vibration. It would come back when a put the gear shift back in the D mode.

I’ll try taking it out of gear when braking and see if it makes a difference. Thanks

It's a good test. Mine did it when coasting to a stop in neutral too though. A big part of it was bad brakes. The dealer replaced both rear drums and that got rid of most of it. I also put 265/70-17s and 17" wheels on and that got ride of even more of it. Almost non-existent now. I think I'm selling the truck though. Just not in love with the thing and can sell for exactly what I have into it so I think it'll be gone by next week. The truck rides stiffer than my 2018 and has been a total pain to get the tires balanced. Still seems like something is vibrating. It's barely there but I'm just super honed into this stuff now. Not sure what I'm replacing it with but I have a 3rd car and getting a dual sport moto so not really concerned at the moment. Might dabble in some older pickups for a bit and wait until some more EV trucks come out. An EV Maverick would suit my needs well. I have motos for "real" exploring and offroading.

Part of the problem is, we got the wife a 2017 RX350 and that thing is so damn smooth and quiet it makes every other vehicle I ride in feel like a vibrating bucket of bolts. We take it on road trips all the time so I'm pretty adjusted to it. Ruining other cars for me.

You can't compare the rx350 to these trucks, your comparing a luxury suv to a pickup. No matter how well the pickup can be made to work, its never going to be that rx350. From the issue you've mentioned, maybe you need to see better dealers. I once had the same tire balancing issues...turned out to be a bad set of tires. It took a 3rd shop to tell me that.

My 2018 Tacoma rode much smoother than this 2022. The 2018 has much softer suspension and no vibes at all. The tranny shifted way too much though, which the 2022 doesn't do. I know how trucks ride compared to SUVs, especially a top of the line one like the current gen RX350.

And the tires, oh. So tired of dealing with those. I actually had them rebalanced 3 times, including them remounting a few of them. They then replaced all 4 tires. It's much better now. You can't feel any vibes through the seat or steering wheel. Just a minor vibe if you put your hand on the passenger headrest. Pretty normal now.
