Have the old KDMAX tune. Ballpark for what my tuner will charge to upgrade? Is this a free update? Also, do any Northeast tuners have this tune pack yet? In NY here.

Got the tune (thanks @KalebG98) last night. Limited driving after, but... its very different. Been driving my truck for 3 years so i am pretty much used to how she drives.

Its like driving a different truck as far as the drivetrain goes.

My foot barely needs to rest on the gas pedal to maintain 70 mph. previously i felt i had to keep too much pressure on the pedal.

no gear hunting. there's a spot on my way to work where it always downshifts coming up a slight grade, and i never thought it needed to. that did not happen today! that's in a spot where i am going about 70 usually.

Its VERY responsive. I need to retrain myself on how much gas to give it when starting from a stop.

Cant really judge MPG yet, but the graphs on the computer seem to be better. time will tell.

edit: if you are on the fence about this, quit waiting. you wont be sorry. its worth it.

I've been on the latest sport throttle for a month or so but don't drive much these days (wfh and what not). We took a decently long trip Sunday and I've gotten the best mpg since new. Dash showed 19.1 and hand calc says 19.8. I used to get 17ish on mostly highway trips.

Update scheduled for Thursday! Have SLT now so plan is to go with “Normal Throttle” per post on the 14th. Excited to feel the further refinements of this new tune.

I read that is was advised to jump on the throttle a few times after the tune to speed up learning. Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes (in a safe area--no traffic), wide open throttle runs help the truck to settle/learn faster.
Run it from a stop, up through all the gears at wide open throttle.

Hi, looking to do this tune soon on my 2022 TRD Sport. Any recommendation on which throttle option (will be running 35s). @PapaRee - thanks

I would try the Sport throttle with 35's on stock gears. If you plan on re-gearing to 5.29's the Normal throttle has been very popular with that setup.
Its really personal preference test drive both see what feels best for you.

Thank you for the feedback. Is there a shop/guy here in the Northeast Florida area that’s authorized to do the tune?

edit* -just saw the list on the initial post, I’ll reach out to the guy in Jax, FL (unless something’s changed) - thanks again!

We had quite a bit of the snow and freezing temps. I'm currently on Normal throttle and it is behaving pretty good on snow packed streets.
Been driving in 4hi 4 days straight and don't see any issues. Perhaps a bit early 4-5 upshift with low accelerator inputs.
    Mpg in 4hi was a solid 20

Just got updated to the pro build and initial impressions are positive. Car feels a little more responsive at highway speeds when passing (just did a 3.75 hour drive home from getting tuned). With normal throttle there's no more jerking acceleration from a stop, which is awesome and my wife will be happy. Very smooth! I don't know if it's the placebo effect, but the car seems to shift more smoothly and delivers power more smoothly as well. Good stuff, guys!

Do you guys dyno the trucks between builds so you can see how the horsepower/torque curves change? It would be neat to see this develop and have an understanding just how much power is affected over stock and between builds.
