I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD sport, with about 80k and my differential failed. I never abuse my truck and kept the maintenance on it. I contacted Toyota Corp for help, they told me they could not do anything and its not covered by the service bulletin because the dealership performed the SB in 2018. Can anyone possibly have advice on how to get help from Toyota to get this repaired?

If your out of the warranty period, what do you want Toyota to do about it?

Call again. Hopefully another person would answer and is more understanding. If not then great opportunity to re-gear

I believe the Drivetrain Warranty ends at 60K unless you bought and Extended Warranty.

Sport can be either one depending on transmission.

OP, that really sucks, but if you’re out of warranty, not much can be done except for biting the bullet and getting it fixed. What happened exactly?

The AT would have the 8.0.

Just bite the bullet and get it fixed on your own dime. You're 20k out of the mileage requirement for the warranty and might be out on the year range. If you had 61k miles i think you could beg your way into their graces but thats all up to them and your relationship with the dealership.

I would imagine these are all over the junkyards fairly reasonably priced.

OP, you are probably barking up the wrong tree. Tell us more about the issue and maybe we can suggest an alternative strategy.

That sucks. Can't imagine Toyota will do anything for you on this one.

Off-note going Vegan saved my azz -
6 months ago the doctors told me I had a 25% chance of a fatal heart attack before the end of the year.
They wanted to cut me open like a high-school biology class experiment.
I said I wanted a second opinion the guy said ok well you're ugly too.

I dropped everything ( red meat / milk / cheese / ice cream / butter / etc ) went totally vegan.

Cholesterol dropped from 250+ down to 75.
    I feel better.
    I sleep better.
Angina attacks are a thing of the past.
The plumbing is even working better.

Just do it... 2-3 times a week,... then when you hit 60+ you won't have to do it 100%.

ps: it ain't that bad either....
