I have a rental Corolla for a few days and I noticed that it’s key is much better than the childrens toy that is the Tacomas key.

This Corolla is a LE, so it’s not completely base, but still it makes the Tacoma key feel like a toy.

Heh. Is the fob on the right what they're giving you 2022 fancy push button start Taco drivers these days? Thankful for my 2018 H-Key fob.

It’s meant to be a truck. They expect you to be doing truck things on a regular basis and it’s easier to replace a fob like that if you break it while doing said truck things

They don’t want to confuse us Tacoma owners with too many buttons.

The fob on the right is the keyless entry/push start fob. My 2016 has that fob

Corolla key is made to be tucked into a man bun. Or the little zippered pocket over your ass crack in your Lululemon skinny sweat pants.

They both look and feel cheap to me.
As long as they can take abuse from accidental drops …who cares.

Yeah I get that I guess, but on my 2019 I had to buy a new key because I dropped it and broke it. If I remember right it was like $400 to get it replaced or something like that.

The Corolla key has a little more weight to it and doesn’t rattle, like the Tacoma key does. My 2019 had to get a key replaced due to breaking when it was dropped from a few feet.

Taco doesn't need a trunk button. Otherwise they're both cheap plastic. Though a panic button would have been nice. I don't really like the flipout keys all that much, I like the taco key pull better too.

Corolla is on a much newer platform - Tacoma/4Runner et al use legacy partbin items.
