Quick question for you all before I place an order. Does it only stay on for 15 minutes and then automatically shut off?

@N2DesignsInc I just got this notification on my phone this morning. I'm not sure which module I have but I was definitely one of your first buyers when you started selling this. I bought the H key remote start with the smart module. Any idea if I'll need to upgrade?

Just installed on my 2018 Manual Hkey trd sport canadian model. As soon as it goes into ready mode the vehicle thinks the driver door is open. Therefore the motor does not turn off when I get out. Anyone have this problem before?

I just installed the N2 Design remote start with the smartphone module. My truck is a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with pus to start ignition. It is a automatic transmission. When I 1st installed and tested the system everything worked great but once the dash was put back together the smartphone app quit responding. After speaking with N2 design they told me to be sure the datalink cable didn’t pull out of the module. When I checked sure enough the plug was partially backed out. I suspect this happens a lot since that small black plug didn’t have a locking tab. Anyway after reinserting I gave the module a wrap of tape so that couldn’t happen again. All is working at this point in time and I can’t be happier. Thanks N2 Design!

I have the N2 remote start (no application just the remotes) and has always worked great but have noticed recently when I remote start what used to be 4 (?) beeps is now only 1 or 2….. My guess is this is a battery indicator but that’s just a guess

    anyone know?

just got the starter + smart module for my 2020 MT in Canada. I got the key fob start working well but for some reason my smart module is not working properly. I can see that i have a good signal, voltage, temperature and location. However I can't control the truck at all (unlock, locking or starting not working).

Any suggestions? I tried killing the app and restarting the smart module by unplugging it. Both green and red lights are solid.

I suspect I'll need to reprogram the smart module, just don't want to F it up.

edit: got it fixed, just had to reprogram

Might be a stupid question...any conflict with the 2wd low mod? (lots of connectors and plugs for both)

I had exactly the same issue and when I talked with N2Designs they told me to be sure the datalink cable that does not have the locking tab did not work itself loose from the smartphone module. Sure enough that was the problem so I used a wrap of tape so that couldn’t happen a second time. This remote start feature is one of the best additions to the Tacoma that I have made. Nice getting into a warm truck in the winter and I’m sure I’ll be just as pleased getting into a cool truck in the summer as well. Thanks to N2Design

    Edit. Self answered.

However, I've run into trouble somewhere. Everything wired up as per instructions. Programming goes off without a hitch. Truck starts runs and drives normally with everything installed.

Can't get it to actually arm/kill/start the truck. It goes through function cycles and I can hear the relay and see the different display changes and exterior lights but no go. Well...no stop

Follow arming procedure, truck acknowledges via some relay noise. TPMS light starts flashing, as I remove key and exit truck. Truck does not shut down to arm when door is closed. I can kill the truck with the fob at this point and initiate a start by then depressing lock button 3 time. It goes through a cycle, tpms light again seen flashing, goes to start and message center reads check voltage...no start. Battery and charging system fine. Truck starts easily by using key.

I'm befuddled. Have requested support from N2.

Edit:. Support received. Was following written directions and not allowing enough time to arm before exiting.

    Update.

Hard soldered clutch cancel line. Got one start from unit and it blew the 1 amp fuse on the relay.

No idea where to go from here.

Truck will consistently arm itself. I could not duplicate the blown fuse because who keeps 1amp blade fuses on hand?

Emailing with N2 customer service trying to see what to do next.

Plug and play.....not so much if you have a manual.

Something definitely crossed up. My 21 was really straightforward once I found out the green wire was pink in the 2020+ trucks. Worked great all last winter and still working great now. Seems like the TPMS light takes forever to start blinking, but it’s probably only 5-10 seconds after the relay clicks.

I just picked up a N2 used from someone with a 2019 - installed in my 2020 and it was a no go. I'll need the specific 2020 version correct? Is there a possible work around?

does your remote start module suffer the same error message from not pressing the break as shown from the starter x module. This post discusses the error

I've had the N2 for my 2020 TRD Sport PTS for almost 2 years now. I really have enjoyed having it and haven't had any issues thus far. For those of you that have the app module to start from a phone......is it really worth $40 a year subscription? I'm leaning away from it for that reason specifically. I think it is a little ridiculous to pay that much for the app after the first year.

If you do not press the break while starting truck does it trigger Tpms error on the screen?
