I’m averaging 19-20 currently on my 22 sport. Stock though other than front air damn removal. It’s -30 Celsius here right now though

Looks like EPA estimate is 24 hwy for that truck. Either its still breaking in, or something is wrong. Even if the EPA number is optimistic, I would still expect 21 or 22 on a stock truck. I wouldn't feel bad about bugging the dealer about it. How fast are you driving on the highway?

Wow, if only we could take all the anecdotal evidence from this thread, but with a bigger sample size. Like a database of some sort. Where hundreds of users provide self-reported gas mileage all in one place... Maybe one that would show that for the past five years, the true average mileage of these trucks has been approximately the same within 0.4mpg error.

yeah idk. Same time next week?

How is a real world, calculated value spread out over 4 plus years, anecdotal?

I managed to get 26mpg out of a tank… mostly downhill, but I was super impressed.

Most tanks doing highway under 70mph get around 21mpg’s. Lower if I do more city driving.

OP, how what kind of speeds are you doing on the highway? How windy is it? Any mountains? MPG goes down fast when you’re fighting a wind, going uphill.

2020 OR with 30k miles. 265/75/16 tires, 1.5” lift, sliders, tonneau cover, and skids.

City 0-50 mph daily commute = 20 mpg (with A/C in summer = 18.5 mpg)

    Interstate travel 70-85 mph = 17.5 mpg

Interstate travel pulling 2,000 lb trailer 60-70 mph = 14.5 mpg

    Wheeling 6-15 mph = 8.5 mpg

Just because *you* have a lot of data doesn't make it more representative of the average Tacoma. For example, you're driving a MT and mileage is already very subjective to one's driving. Yours more so.

Also there's a hell of a lot of people responding without disclosing their wheel/tire mods. You're all just another data point.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
    My anecdotal data point.

Fuel efficiency averaged over a year of mixed driving.
Truck is stock, 1GR-FE, AT, Wheels are 17" Sports clad with 265/95-17 rubber tire pressure 30 psi. 115,xxx miles.

20 mpg over a year of mixed driving.

Have hit 21.5 mpg on interstate at 70 +/- mph. Fuel average cost is $0.15/mile.

These graphs can be falsified very easily. The bar graph only updates when you tap 'update' and you can be selectively doing this after a fresh fill-up and coasting.

I'm not saying you deliberately do this, I'm saying you could be. And this photo is useless.

Uh, I have no idea what you are talking about. I just drive like an old man. Hypermile a bit. But mostly going the speed limit, accelerating slow and coasting to a stop.

Everyone slagging the onboard computer, it's nearly dead on for me tank to tank to tank.

I get worse mileage on the highway than I do on sedate backroads. If I take the backroad (steady 30-50 mph, no lights, but not flat) for my commute I average 20-21 for a full tank.

If I take the highway instead (going 65-70 MPH) I see 17-18 for a full tank average.

Yes, because the fuelly data discloses all that? From what I can see, not every individual truck on fuelly gives its engine size, much less tire size and mods. Plus, even when the data is available, it is not in a usable nor searchable format from what I can see.

The fuelly data is just another version of this thread. It is useful, but not definitive and as it has strong selection bias it is far from a "true average" mpg.

Also anecdotal evidence is not the same as a single data point. A single data point is also not the same as multiple data points on a single subject. Generally, I would leave such distinctions to the academic world because the problem with being pedantic is that sword cuts both ways. But,...

Been below freezing temps now, and my fuel mileage has dropped to 20 and change doing short trips, and some secondary highway roads under 60 mph.I'd bet my tire pressure is around 25 psi.

Alright, I actually agree with you on all counts! And you're right to correct me- I'm calling the responses here anecdotal because everybody is only giving their personal account. Nobody is providing sources or linking other similar threads.

My point is that the vast majority of Tacomas out there are stock. And a vast majority of the modified ones are armchair experts responding on here like their shit don't stink. Can't you see how the information received here would have a selection bias? Your best resource is one that aggregates as many data points as possible and draws (admittedly slightly skewed) averages. Btw you can filter fuelly, although their filters are trash. And even if everybody responded accurately, mileage still depends on the driving habits and there's still a possibility that a stock driver with a lead foot in the city would get poorer mileage than someone in the flats on 37s.
