That's a horrible idea. What time?
In hopefully 6-8 weeks, I'll be able to post here! Returning to the land of dog owners!

Took the pups out for a hike this morning, they were very happy to run around somewhere other than our property.

Spent some time with the doggos today. Had a healthy dusting of snow over the last couple of days, so we had to forge our own tracks. Never ceases to amaze me how they know exactly where the trail is through smell/instinct alone. Easily found the established trail (within a foot or two) through landscape like this where it's easy to get lost...

Yeah, first time trying this gear. Also first time duck hunting. Pretty happy with the comfort and durability so far. Don't even think I'll need a dedicated waterfowl jacket.

Roxie is 13 and we let her get the ducks near the shore so she could help. She was so proud when she got one. I almost had more fun watching the old girl be so happy working than hunting.

This is about 24 hours old right now, so some research and thought has to given to this. We have two 12-13 yr old cats, one who claimed me as his human, to consider. Definitely a rescue. Prefer a mutt. Puppy would be easier to socialize but more work than a house broken older dog. I go on a work from home rotation in 6 weeks or so, that's the time frame.

Ive always had the best luck using a reputable rescue. I called and told them i needed a dog good with kids, people, dogs , crate trained and house broken. And thats what i got. Perfect.

Might be easier to house break a young pup than to find a grown dog that you could trust around your cats.

Close to Canada? This guy is up for adoption next week. He's an awesome little dog. He was mostly housebroken before he ended up with us at 8 weeks old. He'll be pretty quick and agile but loves to just watch tv too.

I'd love to! He's adorable! But I'm in Virginia and that's pushing my time line. I need to be on the work at home rotation and that's about 6 weeks out.

Keep checking the local rescues. There are lots of puppies that need homes.

Both my two dogs came as puppies. Both rescued from communities in the Canadian north.

No joke, it took my daughter half a day to get this pic. Half a day I had to listen to,"Sit, no sit. Stay, stay! No, no, no. Sit. Stay..." lol

He's not looking at the camera, what bribe did she end up using? Lol

None of my dogs like to look at a camera, stare at me all day but get a phone or camera out and its like im a leper.
