    This subtle little piece of trim that looks good.. but seems to have a purpose also (keeping water off the tail pipe?)..

    I'm curious if this piecce has any other design benefits, etc..

    No it’s to increase fuel mileage. There’s a lot of fins on these trucks that are designed to reduce wind resistance SRS.

    Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    Doubt that it's specifically to benefit the exhaust as it's on both sides.

    Someone posted a video a little while back of a Toyota Engineer explaining the aerodynamics built in the 3rd gen. One of the things he talked about was those fins.

    Informative video, i almost feel like all those vortex generators are meant to create Turbulence behind the vehicle in an effort to take out the competition, like a Russian getting caught in the jetwash of Firefox

    That’s why you add more….I got the part number, ordered hundreds of them and 3M taped them all over my truck. Getting 60mpg city, can’t do much highway driving or I sometimes lose a few.
