I am using the stock mount with the (4) 10mm bolts and the (2) 8mm bolts and trimmed tabs on the bezel, but i still cant get the bezel to stay snapped.

The top keeps popping out....any ideas on what im doing wrong?

Did you trim the backside of the bezel? There are little support tabs on the backside that need to be trimmed.

There are 2 on the bottom and I think 3 on the top. If you remove the radio and push it into the bezel you should see the parts that need trimming.

I can see in your last picture that the radio is not going into the bezel, so thats why it keeps popping out.

Yes i trimmed the back of the bezel. I cut 4 tabs off (2 on the bottom and 2 on the top). I can force the radio and bezel on, but its too tight to stay. Its almost like the radio is mounted too far forward.

I did what you said and put the radio in the bezel to see where it needs trimmed.

I can take pictures of the back of the bezel tomorrow to show you what im talking about.

You can also try the tape trick. Here is a little video I made explaining how to do it.

Does the top of the bezel go on first or the bottom?
I can get the bottom in no problem, but the top seems to not lift enough to stay.

Also here are the tabs i trimmed. Did i miss any?

Looks like you got them all. I put the top in first, then the bottom. But try the tape trick, it should help you a ton here.

Installing my joying now, and it mostly seems to be working except for the back up camera and USB music.

I have wifi signal, gps signal, audio, some steering wheel controls (havent tested them all yet, and havent changed canbus settings), radio signal is good, phone pairs and calls.

But when I put it in reverse no camera shows (but it does show the joying over lay), and it does not see any music on my USB drive. It sees the drive when I plug it in ()usb 2 pops up) but no files show. It worked with the OEM unit, but maybe it needs a different format.

Any ideas how to get the backup camera to show, and what format the usb drive needs to be in for music? thanks!

I want to say for the backup camera there were two RCA plugs on the unit you had to plug in together.

Ok, i tried the tape trick without success. The gap is too tight to even move the tape.

This is the best i can get it, but the top just keeps popping off the clips. I dont know what else to do?

I would double-check the camera wiring; like TheCochese mentioned, there's an RCA cable connection that needs to be made, i think one of the ends was marked on mine.

Fat32 should work for the USB drive, I've used the radio to review dashcam footage stored on a Fat32 card

Sorta figured it out. There are TWO connectors from the truck that both fit into the Joying plug (that has the video connector)... switched the connector and the camera works. I had a dash message saying there was a problem and i needed to go to the dealership. Disconnected the battery for a min and that went away...

BUT now I have a new problem that worries me enough to return the Joying.

After I turn the truck on and shift into reverse, I get my camera like normal, go into drive and thats fine, but then when I shift into park... the reverse camera stays on, the R light on the shifter stays on, and if I shift back to reverse it clunks really hard back into reverse.

@5nahalf have you heard of this reverse hard shifting clunky thing because of the joying?

So this is something I did when I first installed mine.

Unbolt the radio from the dash, then push it into the bezel. Then clip the bezel with the radio already pressed in to the dash. The radio wont be bolted down, but it stays in place just fine.

If this helps. I used toyota harness with mine. There are 2 male RCA and 1 female RCA. One of male connectors worked.
Also, mine came with Canbus Out connected to Key wire. This caused buttons on steering wheel not working after enabling in the unit. Plugged Canbus out to Canbus In and got working.

I tried that too, the radio just falls into the dash. I think i have come to the conclusion i need to purchase the sosche bracket because for whatever reason my factory brackets don't allow the radio to sit back far enough.

Thanks but im past that now. I found a second connector that got the camera working,

    ...but now

    If you start the truck

put it into reverse - it makes a normal shifting sound/very slight "clunk"

go into drive - every thing is fine

go into park - the R light stays on the shifter, the backup camera stays on

go into reverse again - and i get a huge clunk, enough to worry about damaging the truck

Tested half a dozen times, and it happens every time. Put the OEM radio back in, works totally fine, no clunk/light/camera issue.

All I can think of is some sort of CANBUS issue, if shifting to D from P though the reverse gate is causing the radio to act like the truck is in reverse, then there may be mismatching reported states between the radio "module" and other control modules (i.e. the trans that should know its in park) and maybe that's causing weird behavior? You could try factory resetting the head unit to see if that fixes anything, or try changing the CANBUS vehicle in the settings (I think under toyota there's a bunch like Camry, Rav4, Hilux etc). Based on this thread it seems that Joying's support is responsive, so I would also send them a message.

Out of curiosity, do the reverse lights turn on when you shift into park and the reverse camera is stuck on?

I don't know what year you have, but I'm 99% sure this is the adapter we need, at least if you're around a 2013 like I am. Check the connector images and/or email them to be certain. I haven't ordered one yet since I ran both the Joying mic and GPS together up to my headline/windshield and reception seems solid so far, but again I've only had it in for a couple days.

Joying sent me a new update that includes wireless Android Auto, but now everytime i turn the truck off the headunit reboots and resets the date and time.

But wireless Android Auto works great!!
