I know I'm late to the party but, for longevity sake, I agree with him @treyus30

He helped with his extensive research on intermotor injectors and saved me alot of headache. If he can keep a 99 Nissan looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor, then he definitely knows more than I

Here's a tip to keep a refreshed rack and associated aluminum hoses looking good so they can be cleaned by pressure washing. Before installation, I clean them with alcohol or acetone to remove any grease. Then I spray when with Duplicolor aluminum wheel coating. That keeps the aluminum parts from tarnishing and getting that oxidized aluminum look.

It gets dirty from mud then I can wash it off. People in road salt country had been complaining about the aluminum lines going down fast from exposure to chemicals. I wasn't looking for it to be shiny, just to protect it from the elements a little longer than normal.

I really like having a powered sub near me in the passenger compartment. Over the years, my sons and I have had various combinations of factory, add-on, or boxed subs with improved sound systems. The one that blows us all away is the one in the 99 Maxima. It's not from an overwhelming bass that makes the body panels rattle. It's from having a deep bass with some incredible stereo imaging working together. When you turn it on and have it properly blended, the system plays tricks on your hearing and gives you the impression that voices are coming from the center console or that you are sitting in the middle of a band or orchestra and you are surrounded by instruments. It can mess with your mind in a fun way.

    Proper soundstage huh?

I haven't had that in a vehicle in forever; setting time alignment delays on closer speakers, custom enclosures to get rid of sibilance and having speakers aimed correctly, building an 'appropriately' sized box for a specific sub based on its T/S parameters and more. Yeah I miss that, but it's time consuming and expensive.

Not something I'd do on a trail rig but it definitely gets me thinking all over again about it!

It's that one you see in the picture, yes.

And what's funny is that it has preamp outputs for all channels at 4V, DTA, X-over settings and more so it's pretty rich in features.

I am far enough north to be out of the way. My buddy and his gf were just outside of the mandatory evac zone, I heard that a former co-worker and an old college roommate had to evacuate. It was surreal watching from afar and hearing it happen not knowing what was going to happen.

    Thanks for asking :)

I "deleted" mine. Manual steering with 33's was easy when at speed. It was slow parking that really got the workout going.

If I went all out like I used to, that'd mean pulling the seats and carpet and putting sound deadening everywhere.

That'd mean a nice sealed sub in the back, as well as separates up front and multiple amps to drive the separates and subs. I'd also venture to doing the BIG 3 as well as a larger alternator.

Ain't nobody got time for that

    Stuff. Also things.
My lady just showed me some drone footage from this morning.

It was really nauseating seeing just about the entire Rock Creek neighborhood in Superior just utterly flattened. I can’t even get my mind around that kind of destruction.

    Glad you weren’t affected, bud.
