    Hi All,

I am thinking of getting an awning to mount on the roof of my trucks cab. Probably a 4 foot awning. I don't have a factory roof rack nor any after market rails or roof rack at this time. Trying to figure out what I would need to mount an awning.

Thinking I would need at least two foot clamps to mount on the upper door jam. Looks like the Thule Clamp Evo is compatible.

Can I attach the awning mounts (ARB awning mounts for example) directly to the foot clamps?? Or would I need a roof rack bar to attach the awning mounts??

If the awning mounts need a rack bar to attach to, anyone know if I can attach one rack bar to the two foot clamps on one side of the truck running north-south?? I don't have a need for cross bars and don't need a full roof rack. No need to buy a full set of cross bars and two more foot clamps unless they are absolutely needed to attach the awning mounts.

    Thanks for any help!!

the feet won't work without the cross bars... might be cheaper to get factory rails and see if they are enough (for one side) for the awning. I tie mine off with poles to hold up the non-truck side(s).

Thanks so much for the reply!! Starting to think something like the Kelty Sideroad awning might be a good option for me.
