Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

I did the same thing with my superbumps in the rear. It definitely helped gain some up travel. My biggest issue with the rubber bump stops is thst hold energy and bounce your rear end pretty hard on hits with speed.

 

Sounds like you need to tighten up your rebound. Personally, I don’t notice any bucking in my rear end with the super bumps. In fact, the super bumps don’t even compress a whole lot at full bump. I stuck a GoPro under my rear to watch what was going on and was pretty surprised with how little they actually compress on a good hit. The rear is light.

 

I had the rears tuned by accutune. Didn't really solve the issue. Going to air bumps did. The truck stays very firmly planted now

I haven't got the patience or the motivation to do the front yet. Rear was easy

 

Someone will always find/be an outlier. That sounds like extreme use in one direction and you're correct, I've never seen those setups nor do I have any interest in going that route.

My "solution" to the lack up up travel on SOA. More like a band aid but we'll see how it works out. IFP bump stops with threaded bodies for adjustable height. So far I'm happier with it but only time will tell. My leafs are sad at full bump though. lol

 

Did those shackles help you with that negative arch issue you were having?

 

I never re-cycled after putting them on. In theory they will help but the leaf will still go negative. They did drop the rear down a little bit at ride height which I'm very happy with

 

You’re probably around there. Supposedly when the guy who set up my archive kit, he used all of the 14in shock and told me there was about 16.75 at the wheel hub. I was hanging it up on the shock mounts and leaf pack when I would play in Moab a bit.

 

Boy a lot has changed in truck tech between 09 and 17. Not to mention car buying… totally stoked on the truck. Much more function than the taco for my life needs.

also had this goodie added on but no compressor. Think I’ll sell it and put it towards a WD hitch because Randy already did that research and I mooch info the best.

 

How many inches of up travel is that from ride height? I looks like you bump is set way below frame level. Might just be the angle. Or for long shocks. Mine with 14" shocks looks way higher.

Also on the tundra install, the bump stop gets cut off so check and see if yours is the same. Wouldn’t make much sense to remove it and then have to buy new bumps. The airbags would still be handy for a heavy payload in the bed.

 

Damn. I’ll check it out. Lucky enough I have two VIAIRS in tandem in the taco. Won’t care much about airing up quickly so maybe one will find its way in the Ford. It’s not a mod if you don’t spend money so safe with the wifey.

 

I can’t believe she drove up our half mile mud driveway. It’s almost a 4wd situation after all the rain. I offered to meet at the bottom but she didn’t get the text.

I’m not saying strapping over the tires is wrong but just one of many acceptable ways and it was easier on my trailer to do it like I did. I had a buddy with a steel deck who welded D rings in the exact right spot front and rear of each tire and used a strap net over each one. Worked great.

 

I was more surprised they didn’t have a standard way to do it. I have no idea what I’ll do, but axle and lca seems the best. Whatever keeps the popo happy and doesn’t sling a steel clad taco into families of five.

The truck that brought mine had all these reinforced holes in the floor and you could strap it wherever you wanted. Looked pretty rad.

 

I really want to use the big car vending machine they have. Life goal.
