2021 Silver TRD Off road w/9K miles and perfect body. I paid $41K even plus did really well on my trade in avoiding taxes and added down payment towards the truck. 2.29% interest was a good deal.
    I'm happy.

I have a 2018 TRD Offroad 2 WD - after seeing what my trade-in value is, I'm starting to get the bug - holy crap. I owe about 18, truck is worth, at least 30, on trade - should be able to get a 4x4 loaded and still come out ahead...now, just to find one!

Put my deposit on a 22 TRD Pro, Auto, Metallic Grey. Now the wait begins; estimated 4-6 months. Working with Sheehy in Fredericksburg. No mark-up, just MSRP. Nearly every dealer in the area is marking these up 5-10K over MSRP.

I've been checking dealers in Kentucky and they are all charging a "market adjustment" in the $2000 to $4000 range over MSRP.

I was shopping since April of 2021, it really comes down to supply and demand, and in the later greed. I've seen the market adjustment as high as $10k over MSRP, and I've seen below MSRP, and I've seen MSRP. Call around, be patient. I was ready to fly out and drive back if I could find what I wanted for the price I was gona be able to afford. Luckily I found a dealer close to my home, willing to sell at MSRP+ the dealer doc fees.

Still waiting for the email that it's being built, I was told a possible 16+ weeks.

I wanted a PRO, MGM, auto... but I needed a 6 foot bed, so that puts me out. I settled/ordered on a 22 TRD-OR LB, has almost everything the PRO has, except the beefier suspension.

You can upgrade the suspension through Toyota it will also add the heritage grill. Gives the same additional height and covered under warranty. Might be worth looking into. I was thinking of going the same route as you, then decided to go all out. I have a trailer so the 6’ bed is not a requirement.

Check out Greene's Toyota in Lexington. They install upgrades on Tacomas, but otherwise they charge MSRP.
And they were the only dealer in the 400 mile radius to honor the VSPP discount on a Tacoma.

    Newbie to the forum...

I just bought a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 for $42,500 from Tracy Toyota in Tracy, CA (salesman was Deepak, super nice guy!). It also had options. Some I wanted, some didn't matter:

    - Predator Tube Steps
    - Roof Rack
    - TRD Skid Plate
    - Door Edge Guard
    - All Weather Mats / Door Sill Protectors
    - Wheel Locks (Alloy)
    - Mudguards
    - Black Out Package (includes black exhaust tip)

The biggest reason I did it was because I was able to get a 1.79% rate at EECU but deal was only good until the end of the year. The MSRP was $41,429 so I paid about $1k in "market adjustment" but it was the truck I wanted overall. Most dealers were asking anywhere from $3k - $5k market adjustment. Inventory is CRAZY low, especially being the end of the year.

I feel like I got a bit lucky and a decent deal but it was A LOT of work calling every dealer within 200 miles of me.

2021 TRD Off Road Access Cab in Magnetic Gray Metallic from Lum's Toyota in Oregon

    -TRD Premium Off Road package
    -Technology package
    -LED headlights
-All Weather Floor mats and door sill protectors
    -Bed light

Paid MSRP plus paperwork for an out the door price of $41,854

Super smooth transaction with the only hiccough being a $299.00 charge for their factory ceramic coating. I wanted to apply my own, but it wasn't a line item they could take off. I told them it would be MORE work for me to have to polish off their product (cilajet?) and to meet in the middle, they agreed not to apply it, but they still had to charge me for it. Lol.

2022 TRD Sport DC in Wind Chill Pearl from Green's Toyota in Lexington, KY.
    $48,288 OTD.
Aftet all said and done, dealer upgrades were free.
More loaded than I had originally wanted (LED headlights and Tech package were my MUST haves), but it seems that LED HL and Tech come with the Premium package or on Limited. And I HATE moonroofs.
Advance Tech is cool. Love the bird's eye view for parking.
Put the mudflaps on before I drove it home to GA, extending the AC line this weekend.
Adding black lettering to the tailgate and black tip. Then I need a tri-fold hard cover. And bed lights. OEM tonneau cover was on my want list, but I let it go it to get the LED headlights.

Just signed the papers on a 2WD TRD O.R. allocation truck that arrives in 6 days. Has every option I wanted and 1 I don't.

Paid MSRP + $800 = $40,439. I got them up to $27,000 on 2 trades. This was $2,100 higher than the next offer I had out of 6 other dealers and more than I would have dreamed they were worth.

Don’t you get a lot of snow in Michigan? Surprising that anyone would want a 2WD.

Yes? Just moved here in August, but bought a 4x4 tax free in Oregon before we left. It’s been on the lot a couple of weeks I think.

SR5 dclb 2x4 with power tailgate, bed lights, predator steps, blackout package(299) , carpet mats and mud guards. For 36.5+Ttl. (More for my trade in that what I paid for it two and a half years and 35k miles ago. I feel like I was taken to the cleaners but I always wanted a Tacoma and just said “f” it. Very unlike me but what’s done is done. Did I screw up?
