Believe flashing then solid on the dash means one of the sensors is bad, they should be able to figure out which one. Same thing happened to me -- they didn't charge me since they damaged it with install of new tires (apparently it was obvious when they removed the tire), but it was a pain to have to bring it back for another day.

Just file this in the shit happens bin.

Give the shop the chance to make it right. Don't be all up in their face with attitude.

Just explain the problem. Let the shop sort out the cause.

Just called the shop and I'm taking it in on Monday. Sounds like they have the reader so we'll see what happens. Will an aftermarket sensor put out actual psi numbers or just trigger the system when the pressure drops below a threshold?

Thanks for all of the responses. I realize this is a 1st-world problem and the truck is working well otherwise.

So glad Off-Road models don’t include TPMS sensors here in Canada.

Actually it's a pretty good tool and I'd hate to lose it. The two times I had slow leaks the TPMS gave me plenty of warning of the decreasing pressure, both the warning light and the pressure readout. I was able to limp home by watching the pressure drop to 25 or so, pull out the compressor, air up and go another 10-20 mi. Now if you have a blowout, then the TPMS can't help.

So does the spare have a sensor?

I think spare tires had sensors up until 2008.

Look at the valve stem. Compare it to the others on your truck.

I haven’t heard of any 2nd gens having a sensor in the spare as the ECU can only be programmed for 4 tires.

I may be incorrect on all 2nd gens (05-15), but the later 2nd gens are like this.

the spare doesn't have a sensor. i remember when I bought 5 new wheels, I also bought another sensor for the spare. regarding the question about the aftermarket sensor showing psi read out, make sure they use oem just for peace of mind. I don't think mine was oem, but it works just fine

Mine has them? 2017 off road in Canada. Great system. No problems at all. Never one. Swapped tires twice as well and tonnes of off roading.

Tire discounters broke one of mine. But they were completely upfront about it. They cloned the broken one with a new one. That was 4 years ago. Zero issues.

Sheet happens. I'm sure they'll make it right

My 2007 has one in the spare... thought they got rid of it around 2009. My tpms light has been on for the last 3 or 4 years after the batteries died. I just use a $5 tire pressure gauge... problem solved.

Not sure, mines a 16 and doesn’t have them. I love it. Constantly swapping tires between our trucks, wife’s 07 FJ doesn’t have them either.
