Mine says the same thing. I've seen posts I. Here dating back weeks with similar first use dates. It's probably a default or something.

No sweat. As far as date of first use, have no idea what that means, honestly. Mine was supposed to be built week 39 but was pushed back to week 42 and it had date of first use 31 December too.

Date of first use is typically when the first owner is reported and when warranty starts. I'm sure they just put dec 31 as placeholder for them all until the truck is actually put in service by a customer.

I think I jinxed myself. I thought I was ordering a MGM TRD OR access cab but went in on Friday the 13th in August. After joining TW I have learned a lot about the allocation system as well as many great ideas for personalizing it if it ever shows up. The salesman did warn me it could be 2 to 9 months. Access cabs are obviously less popular than the Double cab, anyone have any info on production system, do they run a bunch of ACs at one time or just go with their feel for allocation. I wonder if it makes a difference that I am in BC, Canada.

Thanks for all the great posts.

I’m in BC too. Don’t know about your specific model or a timeframe when the factory produces AC. With supply shortages I'm not sure how Toyota is prioritizing production.

Dunno if this video will help you on Toyota’s allocation system.

    https://youtu.be/dT1BWDsf90U

Other than that it a waiting game as you know for the less common models of Tacomas.

However, Toyota Canada sure seems to like to ship a lot Of DCLB TRD Sport’s to BC. Those are usually easy to find on dealer lots.

Thanks for that CC. An interesting way to fill your customers orders. I was offered a Black access but having owned 2 black vehicles and hoping to own the Tacoma for 15 years I just did not want to be washing it every week to keep it looking decent. I will just halve to wait it out and hope my dealer can make it happen.

IMG_20211231_122544705_HDR.jpg I got mine this week after waiting since June.
Got a Sport instead of Offroad that I had wanted originally, but got a lot of other things checked off my list.
It will happen. Waiting sucks. But it will happen.

10/14 - Placed $1k deposit for my truck
11/11 - Received confirmation of the allocation (was told estimated delivery on 12/29)
12/01 - Asked for and received my temp VIN after learning about that in this very forum; didn't even know that was a thing until I read it here! Checked the temp VIN, and it had already "disappeared", but according to temp VIN build week was 46 (the week after my allocation)
12/27 - Followed up with salesman and was told delivery was now 12/31
12/31 - Got my new truck!!!

Just threw down $500 and ordered mine on 12/30 (2022 Lunar Rock DCSB 4x4 w/ the Premium and Predator Packages). Dealer told me about 30-90 days from what they've been seeing lately in the Southeast so now the long and painful waiting game begins. I think most of the upgrades are port installs but I'm not 100% sure so I'm hoping I didn't shoot myself in the foot with all the extras. Has anyone else ordered something similar and did you experience increased delays in acquisition/delivery because of it?

Nice. Congrats. That is not long at all. I've been waiting for a 22 Pro since the press release in the summer. Been ordering shit for it since June

Lol. We're living in the same world buddy. I ordered sliders before I even ordered the truck. They'll be here next week and then I'm taking them down the street to Line-X so they'll be ready when the truck gets here. All I do now is sit in front of this damn computer refreshing my email and looking at more parts for a truck I don't even have yet. I can't tell if it's helping ease the time or making it more painful.

Port options only delay it about 7-10 days in my experience. The things that get you are the build specs like color, premium package, led headlights and things like that. Those seem to take longer to allocate for some reason, I guess people want to buy SR5’s more that decked out Taco’s.
