Happy new years to everyone. I was asleep by 9pm last night. I was asked to work yesterday ended up having the heaviest route both load wise and money wise. Somehow packed 7k$ worth of produce in a ford transit. But boy did I feel that when I got home from work.

Congrats and enjoy. When we moved to our house in 1993 it still had a fuse box, thus the addition somebody tried to add was unfinished. Fortunately, my brother is an electrician and he came and put in a 200 amp box, along with a new service head and some other upgrades. A few years later, we added our addition, with plenty of electrical capacity. I appreciate my brother doing the labor, saving me thousands of dollars.

Especially house that don't have gas lines, like mine. Not only the heat pump, and the hot water tank, but the pump for the well, the clothes dryer, cooktop and the double oven.

Nice! Where do you go off-roading? Been wanting to get into it.

You're like 25 mins from AOAA and 35 from Rausch Creek.

I live basically against Bald Eagle state forest, so I play around there all the time.

Takeover usually happens in July and we usually do a group camp/wheel at AOAA in the fall.

Yea I'm pretty sure Mercersburg is on West Penn, they dominate the area. I mean it's all Energy First anyways...

Looking up the cost of 2/0-2/0-1/0 SE cable, holy smokes!

I thought SE cable has a reduced neutral ?

    Edit , it is 4/0,4/0,4/0
I must of been thinking of sup panel cable with the reduced ground.

I must be stuck with what Mississippi did, only used copper, couldn't use aluminum from what I remember. Doesn't make a difference to me; it'll outlast me done right. Definitely going with the biggest interior panel I can get though. Future shop is gonna need some powa :D We'll have to get together once I get situated, but for the time being I'll have to remember not to run the dryer and stove at the same time o_O

Just be happy you don't have to pull 2000mcm to your MCCs.

 my arms hurt just thinking about that. Back in the day we pulled some of that at Phillips power station. HV flavor. That has to be one heck of a MCC. Voltage /amps?

    They're 750a 480v main breakers. They average around 600amps.

We pulled one of them with a skid steer.

    Thanks Rusty!

I have some land now so I can build a shop eventually once I get the rest of the house up to snuff. Got alot of things to learn; this house is on a septic and well so I gotta learn up care for both. Also has a cistern in the back to use for the outside spigots.

I'll only be the second person living in this house since it was built in 1965. Also, no real close neighbors to contend with, that's a plus. My commute to work will also go from 45 minutes down to 25 :D
