I like that bumper. I must not know the correct definition of a hybrid bumper because to me that's what yours looks like.

Tore my driver side door apart today in hopes of chasing down a super annoying vibration/rattle. (Imagine a bunch of screws rattling in a aluminum can to beat of your favorite tune.)

To make it even more annoying, the vibration would only make it's self known when I turn up the volume on HU to 20% or higher. To top it off, I have sound dampening and insulation all around making this PITA.

After begrudgingly removing the dampening & insulation to access the channel, I first thought it could be a peice of broken plastic rattling around near the speaker but that wasn't it.

I then checked the door cable. It was rattling a bit but turned out not to be the culprit either.

While trying to recreate the noise, (Bare with me, I'm not familiar with the technical term for window each piece) I pressed a flat head into the window rail and luckily found the f@$king culprit. The bracket that's mounted to a roller which glides on the window rail is starting to get old and loose.

    20220101_170009.jpg

Not wanting to replace the whole damn assembly, I used a strip of 80mil dampening and applied across the rail to help eliminate any play. So far it's working and hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks brother, it literally was. It took me a week to get around to it because I kept forgetting about it. It was a fun surprise each time I got back into the truck lol

Rattles are constant battle for me but not from the truck itself but from tools, aerosol cans, tie downs, etc...

    Happy new year and 619!

Installed the Pedal Commander, my first thought was a definite wow. I know it only adjusts the throttle but it did "feel" faster.

Got bored so I took it on a little drive last night after filling it up.
I really need my fog lights hooked up, visibility was bad last night.

"Trained" the wiring harness I made that goes from the Bussmann RFRM to switches in the cab to remove the curls in the wire from being on the spools.

A few money and time consuming things
These are becoming very popular. Assuming easy install?

thanks..this is like a Bro bumper, wannabe prerunner style bumper..
Hybrid is a cross between a plate bumper Pre runner/Baja style bumper. The inner portion tends to be plate and winch ready, with the sides being tube style.

How did you go about making your grill? I would like to do a Pro grill with a colormatched surround as well, but I am only finding the pro grill part as an insert. I have found a few black paintable surrounds on eBay but have no clue if the Pro insert will actually install into them.

I bought this one. But was gonna build one. I just don’t have the time and didn’t wanna be running around without a bumper. Seems my wife drives the truck more than me, I have a company ride.

building one, you need the tools and knowledge. So DOM steel tubing, pipe bender, mig welder, plasma cutter or CNC Laser cutter would be nice.

I don’t know what you mean by Pro bumper

Yes very easy all plug and play. The UI is a little tough to understand all the settings but if you watch videos and read the thread here you get to know it fast. I love mine. drove 2 hours with car play on no issues using navigation and Apple Music. I added my truck to the boot screen and themes. AE5E711B-7746-492A-A2F6-6A918F8C257A.jpg

I got the Pro grille from CaliRaised years ago. I popped out the old one. Took the surround and sanded the chrome paint down, did 3 coats of primer (rustoleum self etching primer). Wet sanded between primer coats. I then used rattle can I got from o’Riley’s. (dupli color super white or universal white) I forgot the exact one. Then I went over it with a clear coat. Some say the super white is off. I remember one being off but once I clear coated it it was fine. Only thing I messed up the clear coat and had to start over, so I don’t remember what is on there now super white 2 or universal white.

Spray Max 2K High Gloss Finish Clear Coat Spray Paint | Car Parts and Repair Refinishing Clear Coat for Permanent Sealing of Coated Surfaces | 3680061 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043B7UQY?_encoding=UTF8

then let it dry and reassembled. The key is using the the clear coat. If not the paint will yellow.. this is 2 years old, other than rocks hitting it and chipping the paint it’s held up.

Painting Took all day. But don’t rush it, then it will look sloppy and you will be back to sanding, and sanding..

Nice! Thanks for all that info. I’ve painted one in the past that was black plastic but not a chrome one. It’s good to know that chrome can be painted over with the correct procedures. I’ll be doing this once it warms up.
Do you remember what grit paper you used to sand the chrome?
